Hi all,
We will be in the World for the week of 7/20. If anyone has any questions about weather, crowd capacity, food, or just want to say hello while we are there, we will try to response ASAP. All 11 of us will have the park hoppers to maximize our Deluxe DDP experience. The youngest one of our group will celebrate her 14th Birthday at Disney. The oldest(DDad) is 68 years young. Even though we do not have any small children, that doesn't mean we won't be riding the "Dumbo"
We just hope that we can post any reply via my PDA. Wouldn't that be awesome?!

See you soon!

I would so love to read a live report for the week of July 20th! We will be in the World that time frame next year and any information/experiences that you can share would be greatly appreciated. Crowd levels, resort occupancy, travel times, wait times for rides and ADRs. weather - share it all!

Are you planning to follow the advice of any guidebook as far as touring or which days for parks? I am reading all I can about the various strategies that are out there and I would be interested to see if the plan you selected was effective for that mid-July time period.

You must be so excited! I hope you have a magical vacation :earsboy:

We will be staying at AKL for that week. Mid-July or early August is usually the time-frame when we vacation in WDW. The weather in Orlando is hot during the months between May to October. Take your pick. Back in the last decade (when my DH and I were still younger) we have done WDW, the commando style; not anymore. If we missed any show, so be it, we can always come back next year and watch that show again.
Details of our plan will fellow...soon....I hope.....

I am interested in hearing all about crowds, etc. that week b/c we will be there the week after you. I have never been in the summer but many times during other seasons...any advice for dealing w/ the heat?

I will be there July 8th to the 11th. I will let you know how the crowds are for me.

..any advice for dealing w/ the heat?

We have used the "mist-fan" and the "cooling-bandana" in the past. They were just O.K. at best. If you have small children in a stroller, remember to get a clip-on umbrella. Another must bring thing to the parks(for us at least) is a packtowl. All you need is cold water from the fountain and it is soooo refreshing have a cool towel around your neck and forehead. The towel dries very fast too. We have also used it to dry off after the infamous Orlando afternoon downpours.

Game plan to beat "some" Florida heat: :teacher:
1) Get to the park early.
2) Do not try to brave the elements. Return to your resort for a swim and maybe a quick nap soon AFTER LUNCH.
3) Finally, you will be well rested and ready to go back to the park in the evening (by this time of the day, the sun is almost set and temp should be more tolerable)

Since we are going with the Deluxe DDP, we will make g$$d use of our snack credits for some nice "frozen" drinks..... I think these should also be considered as part of our game plan too.

We'll be there the same time as you!

Hope you enjoy your time! Looking forward to two different trip reports on the same dates!:cool1:

We're headed down there 2 days after you (the 22nd), so it'll be interesting to hear about crowds/weather right before we go down! :goodvibes

I can't believe the countdown is reaching the 30's!!! SO exciting!!!!!

We will be there July 22 - July 31 staying at VWL. A friend of mine with her family are there now and I am getting live report every night. Thunderstorms everyday still seem to be the normal.
