ALOHA!!

Welcome to my first ever TR. I have been reading other TR’s for awhile, so I hope I can live up to the excellence of this site. I did complete a PTR which can be found at: Paulson/Marello PTR

If you don’t want to read the PTR, here are the basics:
The Cast of Characters: Me – Amanda 25 – DIEHARD Disney Freak; DH – Louis 31 – enjoys his Disney time; DF – Lee 54 – secret Disney Lover; DM –Barbara 50 – almost as Diehard as me; and DB – Jared 28 – just along for the ride.

Dates: Friday November 5th – Tuesday November 9th (4 Nights & 5 Days).

Resort: The Polynesian – CL Hawaii Building (Shhh… don’t tell the boys they don’t know yet!)

Dinning Plan: We are Annual Passholders, so we will be using the Deluxe Dining Plan. Woohooo bring on the Food!

We plan on leaving Friday morning at around 7:30am. We live over in the Tampa Bay area, so with good traffic we should be at the Poly by 10:00am at the latest.

Once we have checked in we will head over to the MK for our first meal on the plan, Lunch at the Plaza. For all the times we have gone to Disney (Which a ton) we have never once eaten at the Plaza. I personally am looking forward to the Banana Split.

Well that is it for now. Stay tuned for our Day 1 Report – LIVE – The Check-In and Lunch!

I am along for the ride. We just returned and did 8 days of deluxe dining.

ALOHA!!!!
Well, we are here. Finally just go to the room and got our luggage. So here is Day 1 – Part 1.

We left our house at about 8:15 this morning. Once on the road, we only made one Pit stop about 1 hour from Disney. We arrived at the glorious Polynesian at about 10:00 am. I was so excited to finally arrive, I could barely contain myself.

Let me also start Day 1 with a BURRRRR!!! I am a Florida Girl and it is Chilly. Anyways, as I stated in my PTR, the boys had no idea we were staying in the CL Hawaii Building. So when we pulled up to valet, they told us we could head over to Hawaii and they were expecting us. WOOHOOO!!!!

Once we checked in our room wasn’t ready yet and we had 11:45 ADR at the Plaza, so we grabbed our stuff and headed to the boat. We hit the boat ramp just as a boat was pulling up, so I hope this is a sign for the rest of the week.

We arrived at MK at 11:15 and headed over to Tomorrowland. We only had about 15-20 minutes before our ADR so we only rode the Peoplemover, which is one of my favs!! After the Peoplemover we were right about time for the Plaza. When we arrived at the Plaza, we were seated right away.

Also as stated in the PTR, this restaurant was a first for all of us. For my overall review of this place, I would give it a 9/10. Here is what we had:

Me: Started with Loaded Potato Soup (Super yummy). Main course was the Grilled Chicken Sandwich which had ham and swiss cheese. The chicken was surprisingly juicy for being a sandwich. This came with homemade potato chips, which were good, however my mama makes better. For my dessert I went with the Banana Split. Why not, it’s already paid for!

DH: Started with a side tossed salad with ranch dressing. Main course was the Bacon Mushroom Cheese Burger also with homemade potato chips. He said the burger was good, but no different than anywhere else in the park. For his dessert he got the Brownie Sundae.

DF: Started with Tomato Soup (I had a bite and it was yummy). Main course was the Chief special of Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Corn. This was a very big meal for lunch, however he ate every bite. His dessert was also the Brownie Sundae.

DM: Also started with Tomato Soup. Main course was the Philly Steak sandwich with Homemade Chips. She said it was not bad at all. Her dessert was also the Banana Split and she ate every bite. I guess that’s okay since she has not had a banana split in about a year.

Finally DB: Stared with the Potato soup. Main course was the Ruben with French fries. I personally don’t like Rubens, but he seemed to enjoy it. For his dessert he had a Chocolate Milkshake.

After lunch we walked around a few of the shops and then rode the Train once around. After the Train it was around 2 and we hoped our room would be available soon, so we headed towards the monorail to come back to the Poly.

Our room was not ready until right at 3:00, so we hung out in the CL lounge until it was ready. Finally I received the text message with our long awaited room number. I was the first to walk in and the second I saw our view I knew I was in heaven. WE HAVE A DIRECT VIEW OF THE CASTLE!!!!! WOOHOOO.
Well, we are relaxing for awhile before our ADR at 7:30 at Ciricos. Stay tuned for Day 1 – Part 2.

I love live trip reports!! Thanks for sharing  I hope you have a wonderful magical trip!

So after enjoying a nice relaxing afternoon and some evening appetizers from the CL, it was time to head over to the GFR for dinner at Cirticos. This restaurant we went to about 8 years ago and was not very impressed, however we read others who loved it, so we thought we would try again.

BOY ARE WE GLAD WE DID! Everything was wonderful!!!! :thumbsup2 I would go into detail about the food, however I think I will write a full Dining Report when I get home.

After dinner it was close to 10:00pm and we were all pretty exhausted from the travel, so we decided to head back to the resort. We took the monorail back because for us Floridians it was COLD! LOL. The MK was closed for the night and the monorail was pretty empty. Until we go the T&T. Everyone must have been coming back from EPCOT because the loaded those cars to full capacity! That’s okay because our stop was next.

Once we returned to our room, it was so nice to have our Turn Down Service and our beds ready to jump into.

Well, that’s pretty much it for Day 1. Stay tuned for Day 2 – EPCOT and the Food & Wine Fest!

(PS I failed at taking pictures last night. :confused3 I promise I will have some pictures tomorrow from EPCOT!)

Today we enjoyed the Food and Wine Fest at EPCOT. We left the Poly at about 9:00ish and walked to the T&T. When we arrived we walked straight to Test Track to get our Fastpasses so we could come back later. The Stand-by line was already up to 45 Minutes. After we got our fastpasses, we went over to the Imagination building to do Captain EO. I personally don’t remember it ever being around, however my parents did. I enjoyed this show, mostly because I have a fascination for 80’s music and dance.

After this ride we were ready to start our eating! At 11:15 am it was already really busy. Not a good sign so early in the morning. For the most part we only had to wait in a few lines. However once we got over towards Belgium (France area) it was WAY too busy and the crowds were going in all directions. We tried to finish the last 5 but gave up. Hopefully we can try to hit the last 5 on Monday.

We left EPCOT shortly after 2:30 and headed back to the Poly. While the boys relaxed in the room (It is Saturday Football day after all) DM and I went for our walk/run. We are training for a 5K so we are keeping up with our routine. After running, DM, DF and myself went over to MK really quick to get my 2010 Christmas ornament. This tookmuch longer than we thought, which means I now have to hurry up to make our ADR at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Stay tuned for my next post about our Dinner.

I am enjoying your line TR. Keep it coming.
You mentioned The Plaza - I love it there for lunch, too !
How is the weather ? It is a whopping 37 here !

Well, I am sorry I missed Saturday night and yesterday. I got extremely sick  at Yachtsman Steakhouse and was basically in bed all day on Sunday. So here is a quick recap of Sunday. The family went to Hollywood Studio’s on Sunday and enjoyed Mama Melrose’s for lunch and the Artist Point for dinner. I am very disappointed I missed both :sad1:. BUT anyways I am back and ready to blog. COLOR]

Today stated with Animal Kingdom. We arrived a little after 9:30ish. I know we missed the rope drop, but I was still moving a little slow today. So when we arrived we headed straight to Expedition Everest which was only a 10 minute wait. WOW!!!! While we rode, my DB got us FastPasses to ride again later. I love that ride!! After that we went and rode Dinosaur. This was also a really short 2 minute wait. (What is going on). This rode is really fun! As soon as we got off this ride we were heading back to Expedition and a Cast Member was announcing Last Call for Finding Nemo, so we decided to go watch. We walked in and sat down just as the show was starting. This is a wonderful show.

The show ended and we had about 40 minutes until our ADR at Yak & Yeti, so we took our FP and rode EE again. After that, I really wanted to see the tigers. We had just enough time before lunch.

Lunch at Yak & Yeti was amazing. We had a wonderful waiter and the food was awesome!!!

After lunch we decided to go ahead and leave for the afternoon. We headed to the Winter Summerland for our traditional two rounds of mini golf. Yes I won Summer :cool1: but lost winter :sad2:!! So now we are back in the hotel getting ready for our favorite dinner, Narcoossee’s!
