Hi All

Got to WDW late Thursday evening and checked in at POR. Had 5 great days in New York, we walked that much the kids are two inches shorter. Had a brill time there, it is even more amazing than we thought it would be. Any questions, please ask.

At POR now for 3 weeks, weather up to two yesterday was stunning then we caught an aweful storm, but we were lucky in as much as we always seemed to be inside when it rained. In fact, we were in Phillamagic and they advised we stayed inside when the film had finished and while we were inside they ran it again, excellent. Weather this morning (10:36 am) is fab, going to the pool then the studios later. guessing we will cop for another downpour later today, but who cares.

Will drop back on later, anyone coming out soon need anything answering, please drop me a line.

Cheers

The Chase 5

glad you are having a good time!! Very jealous as it is raining here - and unlike Florida it looks like it will be like this the whole weekend!!:lmao:

Glad your having a wonderful time and continue to do so.
The weather was scorching when we was out there,we was thankful for the downpours unlike back at home where we thank it for not pouring down.

Enjoy :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed NYC, I think its one of the few places no matter how much hype you listen to once you get there it still exceeds all expectations.
Looking forward to your next post, have fun.:goodvibes

I'm very glad you said that,I want to go to NYC but a family member has been and said it's not worth the trip..I guess it's all down to your own opinion.:thumbsup2

We will be staying at the POR for 3 weeks in less than 2 months so I would be very pleased to hear your thoughts on the place. Also if you take breakfast at Riverside Food Mill please tell us what are your thoughts on the food :)

But most importantly, have yourselves a fantastic holiday. :cool1:

Lucky you - sounds like you are having a fab time:thumbsup2 Come back with more details when you have time.

We are going to POFQ can you let me know what you think?

Ok Folks

Hope you're all well.

New York first. Fantastic, if, like us you have always wanted to go, GO.
It blows your mind. Its quite strange, you see so much of it on TV and there are so many places that are instantly recognisable, I didnt think it would surprise me, but it did. It is the most amazing place we have visited, Strawberry Fields, Empire State Building, coming back to Manhatten on the Statten Island Ferry to see the Queen Mary leaving. The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Wall Street, Tiffanys, Groud Zero and the Tribute Tour. Time Square, Central Park, The National History Museum, Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, Greenwich Village, The Crysler Building, Grand Central Station, The New York Subway............

It was awesome, we walked miles and miles and miles well into the night and never ever ever felt thretened. Honestly, Go, it was incredible.

Ok, WDW, well its easy, its just out of this world, POR this is our second 3 weeker here (July 07 too) and it is fab. Food is typical Disney and its a bit more pricey that 07 as the dollar is a little stronger. You need to get down to a supermarket and get the pop for the kids (and beer for the Dads). The beers in the parks, $5.50 a can. Bought 12 cans from HESS Gas Station opposite Planet Hollywood for $7.99. Raining each day, more or less on the dot at 4pm hour max then stops.

Today, two things happened. We walked to the Indy Stunt Show at Studios and as we approached the line, a lady came up and asked if Josh (5) would like to introduce the show. He said yes and we got escourted right to the fron tof the seating, no waiting in line. He stood at the front and proudly told his name and age and then shouted, LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION and got a standing ovation, brilliant.

Second thing today, dont know if any of you have noticed this time of year all these Brazillian trips, schools or smoething, anyway, they just puch to the front not bothering to wait and us being British, mutter but dont say anything. Well today I'd had enought, we were inside the Mermaid show waiting to be seated and a few had managed to find their way to the front. When they called their friends through I stopped them and told them to wait like everyone else. They wandered off back to the back and this was met with approval from everyone in the vacinity.

We go in and during the show they insisted on whistling the girl taking the part of Ariel!!!!!! Really very rude people.

Anyways up, just got back to the room, Jac and the girls gone swimming me and Josh gonna down a cold beer (well I am, he is playing with his Indy lego set)

Stay tuned for more from the world

Steve

Thanks for the regular updates - it's good to see you are having a great time (but let's be honest - who wouldn't be)
And to have your DS introduce the stunt show - hope you had your cameras ready :cool1:

coming to POR 9th Aug never been before hoping it as fantastic as looks where are you staying ??

NYC sounds amazing,I can't wait to go I definately want to go.:thumbsup2

Glad your having a wonderful time,Well done to your son on opening the Indy stunt show :thumbsup2

As for the pushing in,it as become a trend..:headache:

Continue having a wonderful time :goodvibes

You sound to be having a great holiday Steve:thumbsup2
I experienced the pushing in Xmas about 2 years ago, stood about 30 mins for the Parade at MGM 2 mins to go and these children pushed into front, then rest of family arrive saying "get to children", I said not a chance you are not going, they stood behind me tutting and complaining(well I think they were, couldn't understand them) about me all parade.

how fun that your son got to introduce the show - that must have made the holiday for him!!!

and that's really cool they had everyone stay in the theatre and watch philharmagic again....it must have been REALLY storming outside for that to happen!!

i agree about NYC being a great place to visit (and it was fun to live there for the 3 years we lived in manhattan :thumbsup2)..

Awww enjoy every minute of your trip! I just got back last week from three weeks in Florida and I am feeling really "homesick" tonight. Hoping I can go again sometime soon (and by soon I mean within the year!). Hope the weather is good for you. We encountered the EXACT same thing from the Brazilian school trip thingies - lots of rude students around! The day we were at Busch Gardens around 25 of them were laid all over the floor, some of them asleep, blocking the whole pathway up to the toilets. One girl was laid completely across the entrance to the ladies loo and never moved to let anyone in or out. My mum and I nearly fell over but she still didn't make an attempt to move. What made it worse was there were adults with them and they were doing the exact same thing! The day we went to Magic kingdom around 50 kids had written their names in all different colours of chalk on the ground in front of the place you wait for the boat to MK. I was a bit shocked Disney allowed them to do this as, although it washes off it was a bit of an eyesore and ruined the "magic". So go you for putting them in their place :woohoo:. Congratulations to your little lad, I bet he was over the moon! You are making me want to try New York again too, I went three years ago after wanting to for years and hated it, had the most miserable time and couldn't wait until I got back to Florida. But after hearing what a great time you had, I'm thinking maybe it deserves another go :rotfl: . I always thought wild horses couldn't drag me back there! If you don't mind me asking where did you stay? Have a brilliant time at WDW!

great report!I bet your son was made up to introduce the show!!!
good for you to tell the brazilians! :thumbsup2 think Disney need to start doing something about that, meaning that the cm's at the rides must see whats going on surely they should be trying to stop all this happening. so it looks like June/July isnt the time to go there if you want to avoid this!
glad you enjoyed NY, we have only been once for an overnight stop before going down to Florida, we staeyed at the Pennysylvania hotel opposite madison square garden

Hi, me again.

We are now 7 days into our Disney part of the hols, 14 to go woo hoo!.

Brazillians, they seem to be disappearing slowly, apparently, we were talking to some Americans and they said stay clear of the All Stars in July, it is full with them, and agreed they are very rude. If I hear another Brazillian chant I will scream, why do they feel the need to share this with everyone.

Anyway, Thursday, we now have a car, Mazda, big and red and I drove yesterday for the first time abroad and as yet, not killed anyone or been involved in a fight, so it must be going ok.

Went to the MK on Tuesday night, came out at about 12:00 really brill towards the end of the night, we just went from ride to ride, did about 6 or 7 rides in an hour. Typhoon Lagoon on Tuesday day, fab as always, I could spend my life on the lazy river that runs round the perimeter.

Weather, its very hot, in the car yesterday the outside temp read out was 98 degrees, only dropped to 80+ by 10:30pm. It is very warm. Since Monday no rain, had a few dribbles and an awesome lightening storm last night but very little came of it.

We have been to Wallgreens to stock up on breakfast cereals, pop, water and of course beer (which i now cant drink cause I am bloody driving! Doh!)

I always defend Disney when anyone runs it down, but I do feel the food could have a bit more thought. Its ok, and obviously very American, but for the money and choice its not brilliant.

We have been to the Earl of Sandwich at DTD a couple of times, that was nice food, pretty good value compared to Disney too, nice fresh rare beef and horseradish sandwich for $5.50, it is a very welcome change from the burgers.

The good lady is out having a swim now for an hour, me and the two girls have picked up the usual ear infection, which is just bareable. We are going to Animal Kingdom later, I do think staying on site for 3 weeks makes it less of a rush, we have seen a massive amount so far, with out having to bust a gut getting out for 8:00 in the morning.

Cant think about any more at the moment, did I mention the Brazillians!!!!

Oh yes, one thing, sincere best wish to footballer John Hartson, sad news, I hope like lots of other fans he pulls through, but it does look stacked against him. Good luck John!

Be in touch

Steve
