Live from Vero Beach........

We arrived on Saturday June 26th..........and are in Beach Cottage 1150(farthest one to the right if your back is to the ocean). We have 7 people in the cottage.We also have the in-laws(79+80)here with us, in a studio behind us .
The view from the upstairs deck in the Beach Cottage is "breathtaking"!!

The resort is at capacity this week but the beach was never really that crowded.The weather for the 1st 5 days so far has been perfect.........88-90 degrees and not one drop of rain.The pool doesn't seem to have a problem with saving chairs as in other trips here.The kids and grandson had a great time using the slide here at the pool

We had 2 dinners at Shutters and everyone enjoyed their meals.We also rented jet skis here and had a good time on them.

Hopefully VB will get DSL/cable hook ups at this resort in the near future, like the WDW reorts just did.This is my first time using dial up in 4 years .

We do have 2 rental cars here and had no problem at MCO using National EA.We fly out of MCO tomorrow(sat) at 12:30 We also spent yesterday at West Palm Beach visiting my sister. It was 98 miles from VB to WPB(1 hr 20 min).

We did book this Beach Cottage at the 11 month window(day-by-day).

The PC in the lobby has a cable modem now but at $5 a 1/2 hour I doubt you want to use it.

I seen people using it..............but it is easier for us just to have the laptop hooked up in our Beach Cottage so others can use it also.

P.S. We did find a great "Italian restraunt" called Italian Grille right next to the Indian River Mall on Route 60. The food was excellent and very reasonable. It is 12 miles from the VB resort.

Have they had "Member Card Night" yet? We really enjoyed this. The kids had popcorn and watched a movie in the little theatre near the lobby at the resort.

I'm heading there the day after tomorrow. Glad to hear about the weather. I was concerned it might be unbearably hot. Hopefully the sea breeze will keep it comfortable. I know I'll be spending a great deal of time in the water anyway.

Thanks for the report on Italian Grille. I've often seen good reviews but I don't think anyone on these boards has mentioned it. I was curious what a "real" person's take on it might be. I guess it's another restaurant to add to the list.

Have a safe trip home -- I bet it'll be hard to leave paradise.

Thanks for the "vacation in progress" report! We haven't stayed at VB yet, and I'm always interested in the reports about it (same with HH too).

Sounds like a great trip. I'll be at the Beach myself tomorrow but quite a bit more north and about 25 degrees colder than where you were.

Glad to hear that you weren't disappointed in Shutters. When we ate there - three times- we found the food to be just average and a bit overpriced.

Did you find enough to do ? Didn't get bored, or restless for the parks ? Our trip was nine days and I was getting a little bored with just hanging out at the pool and walking the beach.

Wow! Sounds wonderful. So glad I found your post. I am thinking of your beautiful little grandson enjoying the slide. Glad you guys are enjoying good weather, too. We have GOT to try Vero... There are just never quite enough points for all my planning!
