I'm writing this from outside the Green Cabin Room - no free internet access in the rooms yet. We have an OVIR with a full ocean view - its a handicap-accessible room but we can live without the bathtub.
We arrived yesterday and have enjoyed clear, hot weather in the mornings with clouds in the mid-afternoon and rain by dinner time.
The beach is lovely, the water refreshing but not cold, although others might disagree. I have collected a bagful of seashells already.
We tried out the pool this afternoon. It seemed to me that the lifeguards are selective about whom they correct - a kid whipped a ball across the crowded pool and hit the corner of my eye...hard enough that I saw stars. That sort of rough play was in fact witnessed by the lifeguard but not corrected.
We ate at Shutters tonight - the best thing I can say is that it is "uninspired" cooking, We ate at Squid Lips last night and it was 10 times better than Shutters.
There is a Wal-mart Supercenter about 8 miles away and we bought DD12 a boogie board for $9 - what Disney charges to rent one for the day!
We haven't signed up for any of the activities yet. The Japanese fish printing looks interesting. DD12 is the crafty sort but DS13 is on the autism spectrum and would rather watch DVDs all day!
We hope to do the nature walk with Mary Ann later in the week and maybe the campfire. Not sure if the Turtle Troop would be worth the $80?
Its supposed to rain all day Wednesday so we are thinking of driving up to KSC. At the very least, DH wants to visit the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce.
That's it for now!
