Live from the VWL

We are in love! Very beautiful, so serene. For those that have bought sight unseen, have no fear. I would love to do an add-on if only I could convince DH.

We are staying in a studio. We checked in at 9:30a and there was a room available but it was on the ground floor so we waited. We reiterated our requests and the CM gave us a thumbs up. We got exactly what we wanted. A 3rd floor studio overlooking the pool with a little patch of Bay Lake visible. # is 3059. Studio is immaculate, CM's are VERY friendly. We requested a full size coffee maker and toaster and were promptly accomodated. They even brought 4 extra packs of coffee. The weather has been gorgeous in between some nasty bouts with smoke. We stayed Fri/Sat night at Downtown Disney and the smoke at the pool area (Grosvenor) was unbearable. It is much better now although the first two nights here we smelled smoke in our room.

Busses and boats are running perfectly. If there are any questions, please feel free to ask. I will check back before we check out on Friday and head to the AKL.

Looking forward to the DIS meet in the Spike Room on Thursday.

Thanks for the live upate. Glad you're having a great time! Hope the smoke doesn't get out of control. I feel so bad for all the Florida residents. We are having a nice rainy day here, something that Florida could really use! (But, of course, not during your vacation! lol!!)

We requested a view of the lake on our next stay. MS was very nice and said she would request the 4th floor for us. After reading the post about the 4th floor lock offs not having a balcony, I am wondering if I should change my request- so thanks for giving us your room number. Hope you have a marvelous time!

Eeyore #1:

No smoke today. We did get some rain on Tuesday night...a dowpour in fact...right as we were seated for Fantasmic. It is very clear right now. I have my balcony door open overlooking the pool and there is no smell of smoke. Hope it remains this way throughout the weekend.

Lodgelady, my location is beautiful....we are DIRECTLY over the pool. I originally requested the fourth floor as well.

Feel free to ask additional questions. I will be leaving tomorrow heading to the AKL. Not even that can help alleviate my depression. I hate to leave here. You are all in for a treat!

I hope you love the Animal Kingdom Lodge as much as we did a couple of weeks ago. Be sure to take the lobby tour at 3:30 p.m. & to hear the story telling in the evening. Also, we had delicious food at both Mara's & Boma's (both brunch & dinner at Boma's).
