Hi everyone!

We're here at the Polynesian, our favorite resort. Just to let everyone know the new bus stop has been completed. It was still under construction when we arrived on the 2nd, but yesterday everything was ready to go. We received a voicemail last evening telling us that as of today (4th) the new bus stop would be up and running.

The scaffolding and walls are gone and the front of the resort looks as beautiful as ever.

Any questions? Let me know. I'm checking the computer each morning.

Have a happy 4th!

gAloha!

How is the volcano pool? I'm curious about the depth and crowdedness (if that's a word)

Wish we were there!
Can't wait, we have three more weeks to go!!!
Want to stay and wait for us????
What building are you in? How do you like it?
I also have a pool question. How big/wild is the slide? I have a 6 and 5 year old that love slides, but hey I'm a mom and I worry!!!
Can I wait for them at the bottom? We are not allowed to do that at Storm Along Bay.
I'm so glad to here the new Bus Stop is ready, that will be a big plus when headed to MGM and AK.
Thanks for thinking of all of us still at at home!!!!
Please tell us about the fireworks!
Happy 4th!
Have a magical stay!

Ohhhh, lucky you!! Can't wait to get there. I'll also ask how crowded is the pool mid-day? What longhouse are you in? Have a terrific time. Aloha!!

I just joined DIS today. I have never posted before so I hope I can do this correctly. We are going to be staying at the Poly July 18 - 25. We have never stayed there and are looking forward to the trip. We are staying in the concierge building and have heard mostly wonderful things about the resort. Is the pool crowded in the afternoon? Does the resort seem crowded? Thank you for any information you can share.

Lucky you! Sure wish I was at the Polynesian right now! I'm out of the loop on the new bus stop there ~ I didn't even know they were getting one:eek: ! Where is it located? Are there now 2 bus stops there or does the new one replace the old one? Thanks for the info. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Welcome to the Dis boards Lowcountry mom of 3! You will find these boards very helpful in your Disney & Universal planning (as well as when going thru Disney withdrawal LOL)

Thank you for the nice welcome! I have been reading the forums for the last couple of days and feel like I have learned so much. A wealth of information here.:D

Hi everyone!

You'll have to excuse any typos -- I'm typing on my DH's lap top and am not used to it yet!

The weather is great -- although yesterday was the hottest day so far. We've been to MK, AK and EPCOT and don't thing the crowds are bad at all. Have been here when things were much more crowded in July and August.

We are staying in Samoa until the 6th -- we then move to a two bedroom at OKW and then back to the Poly for the last two nights in Concierge.

We had friends check in yesterday for a one night stay and they were bumpted to Concierge. The CM told them that the Poly is filled to 101% capacity and that anyone checking in after 3:00 yesterday had a very good chance of being moved to another resort.

The pool was definitely crowded yesterday, but we expected as much since it was the 4th. We did venture over to EPCOT for a short time and did not notice an increase in crowds. It did seem that everyone was headed to the MK.

If you are coming to the Poly in the near future, bring BUG SPRAY! This is the first time we have encountered sooooo many mosquitos. We have been on the beach each night and were eaten alive the first night. My DD must have 30 bites on her back. The mosquitos are really bad right now.

The new bus stop looks great. To answer your question, there is only one bus stop now. New signs were put up around the resort indicating the new location. It has the "ceiling" fans at the top and benches, etc. It looks really nice. It's located next to the GCH on the left.

This is our first time using the buses, as we usually take the monorail or drive our own car to AK and MGM, but we took the bus to AK on the 3rd. What a long wait. I perceive myself to be a patient person, so we waited it out. But there were many people who were voicing their disgust and opted to drive in the end. When two buses did arrive, they were filled to capacity and the driver indicated that he could only fit about 5 people.

I remember in the past sharing a bus with the WL and GF, but this time the bus is shared with the Contemporary. When we left AK it was pouring rain and three All Star buses came and went before one bus for the Poly arrived. Then unfortunately the ceiling was leaking so those standing in front of me were getting continually wet.

I am not complaining, as I'm on vacation and what's a little wait, but there were many people who were unhappy. Next time though, I will hop in the car and head over.

It seems that many are checking out this a.m., but with the start of the Fairytale Package yesterday, I am sure many more will be arriving.

I will be on line for an half hour if anyone has any questions.

Aloha!

I was thinking of requesting the Samoa longhouse during our Poly visit. What do you think of Samoa?? Thanks!

I'm looking forward to your report after staying in the Polynesian Concierge. I'm having second thoughts about booking Concierge. If the lounge is small and crowded it wouldn't be relaxing, and we wouldn't end up using it. I'm a little disappointed because I sold Dh on the idea.

Please let us know how the concierge is. Also if you have a reservation and the resort becomes full they can move you?(how does the resort become to full if you have a reservation). Just curious because we will probably be checking in late.
