I'm jelous! It's supposed to start raining here tomorrow (only in Los Angeles would that actually be the lead story on the news) and I have to go to work. :umbrella: Yes, I think I would much rather be at the Poly with you! Have a Mai Tai for me!

Enjoy! I was in a non renovated room in Aoteara in Dec. Had a great time anyway!

Are you in a room where you can see the monorail go by?

I don't believe so...we are in a room on the 1st floor facing the GF and the beach...near the GCH and Spirit of Aloha Check In. We had some friendly ducks try to come into our room today when our door was open..it was the cutest thing! We gave the a quick snack..outside the room ofcourse. : )

The weather is GORGEOUS! Just went out for Breakfast at Captn. Cooks...and will soon head out to the parks. Def. bring comfortable clothes...shorts, t-shirts, etc. What a wonderful day for Disney!! Oh..and Aisling...from our building, we can see the monorail. But my room is near lua cove.

I love Aorteroa! You can go out your door to watch, MK fireworks :thumbsup2 That beach is nice and relaxing, with the luau music in the background. :goodvibes So tropical! This is really an underated building. You are close to everything, and its a beauitful location. I guess everyone thinks the pools are farther, but that really is not true. your 1 building away. And you get to look into Tonga suites when you walk by & check them out. ;) (unless I win the lotto, thats as close as we will be getting).

We where there 1 year ago, this week and next, and had cold weather, you are so lucky! Have a great day. Mky :smickey:

I agree totally! The building is in a Great location...and so close to GCH to catch the monorail..or a bite to eat. I walked by Tonga just a few minutes ago on my way back from Capt. Cook's....and they are very beautiful as well. Tikiman..I will def. get a picture of the headboards! The Poly is def. my favorite hotel on the monorail line!

That is so cool that you're at the Poly and giving a live report. I wish I was there with my family right now and just relaxing in the Volcano pool. You're quite the lucky person to be there getting away from the last stages of winter. How is the construction of Captin's Cooks doing? Have they even started it yet? It looks like I might be going in October but I hope even sooner. Enjoy your stay and I hope you keep having great weather.

P.S. Have a Mai Tai from the Barefoot bar for me and ENJOY!!!!!!

Aloha!

If you get a chance, could you please take some pictures of the view from your room? We're going back in July and our children really liked seeing the monorail from our room in Rarotonga last year (our DD liked it better than our partial "lagoon view" from Tokelau :confused3 ). I'm thinking about requesting Rarotonga or Aotearoa this year.

But enough about me, enjoy your stay and post when you can (for those of us who can't be at the Polynesian and need to live vicariously through your experience :thumbsup2 )

I'm so glad you're enjoying your trip! I love the Polynesian, it's my FAVORITE Disney resort!! :sunny:

Oh..and Aisling...from our building, we can see the monorail.
This must be so cool!

I wonder if you feel it's very different being in a lodge separated from the main building as opposed to being in the main building like it is with other resorts. It's not going to change my mind about staying at the Poly, but I don't know if I'm going to 100% like not being in the central location.

Have fun!

I will certainly take some pictures! It is so nice being so close to everything...and just pausing by the Marina and gazing at Cinderella's Castle at night. Capt. Cook's is not under contstruction, yet. OO I cannot wait..Mickey Waffles tomorrow morning! Ok..I better put myself in bed or else I won't be able to wake up!!

:thumbsup2

We're leaving Monday night and will be at the Poly on Tuesday!!! We requested Aotearoa facing luau cove. We've requested Aotearoa 5 out of the 6 years we've been there! (One year did Concierge so we were in Hawaii). Are all the rooms now renovated? Can't WAIT to see 'em!

Have a GREAT time and we'll see you there this week!
 :cheer2:
