We are finally here!!!!!
This is our first trip to WDW ever - and we are having a wonderful 1st day! The Polynesian is a gorgeous resort! The grounds are beautiful and, so far, the CM's have been wonderful - we got our leis upon arrival and I'm getting used to saying "Aloha" a lot! We're staying at the Rarotonga longhouse (3rd floor) - and we have a nice view of the quiet pool.
We were tired after our redeye flight, but I must say that ME made our arrival nice. Since we were there so early, there was only one other family at the ME welcome counter. I am one of those who never received my ME tags or information packet - so I was prepared for anything! The CM apologized for not getting the tags out to me in time, asked for my last name and found my info in the computer. She then took my claim tickets, entered that information in the system and asked for a physical description of our bags. That was it! I didn't have to fill out any forms and I received a ME confirmation, with barcodes, that I need to use at check out.
The whole ME counter experience lasted about 10 mins. and we entered the line for the Poly/GF bus. The bus was already there and we only waited 5 mins (I counted!) before we boarded the bus. Since we were the only ones going to the Poly, another family staying at POR boarded with us. We were the only ones on the bus! We never saw a video presentation, but our driver talked a lot about the new homes and schools just constructed.
We arrived at the Poly around 7:30am and we were surprised (and happy)when the CM told us that our room was ready! We crashed in the room until our breakfast PS at Ohana's at 10:10am. Ohana's was good - there was a full house and we had to wait about 20 mins. for our table. The pictures and autographs with Mickey, Goofy, and Chip & Dale made it all worthwhile.
After breakfast, we took the bus to DTD and looked around - it's so much bigger than DTD in Disneyland! My DD4 started to have a meltdown, so we headed back to the Poly. We never waited more than 10 mins. for the bus (both going and returning).
We're here until Friday (May 13th), so I'll be happy to answer any questions! Aloha!
