Disclaimers...My grammar is horrible and I can't spell. Also, most importantly, I haven't consumed the Disney Kool-Aid. I do not bleed Disney but I used this Board extensively to plan for this trip, so I thought I'd return something.
Background...1st Disney trip with Wife, and 2 boys (6+4). I am a seasoned traveler in the US. I've stayed in drive-up motels in unincorporated Tennessee villages to Ritz-Carltons and major Vegas properties (Wynn, Venetian, Caesars, etc...).
Flight: AirTran...don't let people knock them...they are always good for me. Flights are on time, bags get there and they have both inflight internet and XM radio (which continues to play during takeoff and landing). With those two features they beat anything out there for me. Crazy story today...we are on the runway to take-off the plane powers up and then the pilot shuts it down and gets on the intercom. "Sorry folks, but the plane in front of us just had a bird strike and they need to check the runway for any remnants". My wife turned white as a ghost, I chuckled and hoped the other plane was ok.
Disney Magical Express: Sure its magical once you get past the 1 hour wait at the Airport. I guess this is Disney's "intro to lines" for your trip. The CMs there appeared to dislike their jobs more than your friendly TSA workers (who by the way are actually very friendly if you don't make their job hard). Seats were comfy and they play a little "welcome to disney video" to keep the kids entertained.
Poly: Staying Club Level. You get picked up in a little golf cart and taken to the building. Check-in was great as they send the kids and family up to the lounge while you check in. Very nice intro experience...they gave the kids a bunch of stickers, sand pals and shovels and other stuff. We got fake lauas.
Baggage From ME: Took 2 hours to get here...then it arrived in 2 shipments. I remember someone saying that CM's didn't take tips. My fat behind they don't take tips. I always tip so this wasn't an issue...but be prepared. 2nd guy to bring up bags didn't get a tip and he clearly was expecting one.
Poly Room: Small by today's "exclusive" hotel standards. Everything is small. For showering purposes I hope you aren't over 5'4". Because thats about where the shower head is located. Hopefully I don't throw out my back this week taking a shower. Maybe I'll just kneel.
Thats it for now as we just got here and the kids are napping. Will update as I have time.
