We arrived Tues. early evening and had a non eventful trip to POFQ via ME. Then the problems started. Kristen was our check in person and she was very nice however we were assigned a 2nd floor room which we can't have due to the needs of our son. I told her we needed a ground floor room. Over an hour later we finally had our room! yeah!! I asked for my case of water and she said they had it but it never arrived. I called again, no water. Today our water was delivered by bell service only after we had to write to a fellow diser and ask her to find our water that she left for us. God love Heidi for the water and ceral!

We head over to Chef mickey for our dinner and DS is wiped out but we keep going anyway because he is begging for Mickey. Now we take out our keys to charge the meal to the plan and noticed that sweet Kristen also put the wrong names on the keys. Now we have no water, waited an hour to just check into our room and she put the wrong name on them. They all have my last name. Urgg. DH goes to concierge the next morning and they put the correct names on the keys.

Off to MK after geting up late. Very light crowds. We went to guest services where David issued our GAC with two stamps and gave us a sticker for the stoller. On an after thought I ask David about our season passes but didn't bring my DL. He says wait and after a few moments he has all the info and we walk away with our season passes.


MK was wonderful. We stayed all day and even to the fireworks. It was walk onto every ride and we did pirates 4 times in a row.

Our room was clean, everything has been perfect with mousekkeepping and towel animals everyday. I make the beds, old habits and put all towels in the tub. I also leave a small tip.

We went to MNSSHP last nite and stayed until the end so I will write more after a nap.
 
Sorry about your check in and not getting your water. Sounds like you are having a great time otherwise! :) How do you like POFQ? I've never stayed there before. I guess your room is nice and clean and your mousekeeper sounds great too. I have heard some bad things about the rooms and mousekeeping so that is good to hear. Enjoy your vacation!

It really makes me sad to read your experiences. I stayed at POFQ for the first time in May with 2 adult friends and had a really wonderful stay there. The rooms were clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and we got the exact room location we asked for-building 4, top floor, right next to food court. But then I noticed the person in front of us checking in was next to us and the family with 2 small kids checking in after us was on the other side. The elevators at POFQ are at the far end of the buildings and this location would not be that convenient for that family.

In Aug I took my entire family-me, DH, DD(7), DS(5), DD(3) along with a friend and her DH. We had asked for 2 connecting rooms, 1st floor, close to food court but when we arrived they had us in adjoining not connecting rooms in building 7. I waited paitently for the CM to find us connecting rooms. She called over a supervisor who called someone on the phone and I heard her say "I saw those rooms but I dont want to give them those, I'll just call maintenance on those other rooms." She went in the back to call maintenance and the original CM told us they had found us rooms that would be ready at 4pm. It took at least 45 minutes to check in. We went to Epcot and came back to POFQ around 9:00. When we found the rooms one door was ajar. I pushed it open to find at least 20 matress in the room and at least 2 rooms of furniture. I opened the other room's door with my room key to find NO furniture. We all dragged ourselves back to the front desk where a very nice CM quickly found us water view connecting rooms, 3rd floor of building 7. But this still took a while and we all needed new cards and we had to wait til 10:00 for our DME bags and after 11PM before packages I had mailed via UPS arrived.

The next day I went to tell the supervisor what happened and she laughed at me and told me it wasn't her fault because maintenance told her the rooms were OK. I didn't want to talk to her any more and didn't want to waste any more time searching for a manager. I did email Disney a letter 2 weeks ago and got the "Thanks for your comments" response. If I don't hear soon I'll try finding out POFQ's managers name and send a letter directly to them.

EVERYTHING else at POFQ was great. I really loved the place and want to stay there again but it really makes me nervous to read of others who have simular check in problems. My girlfriend went to POR last week and had requested a handicap room for her FIL and they put her in a 2nd floor room without elevators then put her family of 5 in a room without a trundle. It was days before they got a cot. She said there were always long lines at the front desk with lots of unhappy guests.
 

tacomaranch--I was wondering, with someone who has special needs and has to have a certain type of room, is it noted that way on your reservation? I know to Disney room locations are usually just requests, not guaranteed. I would hope that they have some kind of system in place for people who truly need to have a specific room/floor.

In other circumstances, I don't think it is fair to be angry at the hotel for not meeting your requests. Not every family can be close to the elevator, food court, or have connecting rooms. Putting those things on your ressie does not guarantee getting them.
