Live From the May Repositioning Cruise

The adults will take over the oceaneer lab at 10PM tonight to PLAY. You know , flubber, fun, fun, fun. Games. Things that apparently only the kids get to do, we will get to do. I guess it is because there are so few kids on the ship.

Oh man.....I understand WHY they can't do this on all the cruise, but I wish they could! I'd LOVE to make Flubber in the lab, and get a chance on those awesome looking video game systems!

We are scheduled to start between 6 and 8 am eastern time tomorrow. I'd expect it will probably be closer to 8am as there are some festivities planned for the boat. The cruise channel shows a 6am arrival and 8am departure from Cristobal, and we spoke with the Captain's assistant today who said that we are taking some dignitaries on board, and that several photographers for the ship will be exiting for the day as well. I'm sure that someone will send up the typical Disboard alert. Look for at least 4 or 5 threads tomorrow with the headline "ITS ON THE WEBCAM!!!!!!" and you'll know its time to check.

I personally expect VerandahMan to start 3 of those threads.

As long as I'm home and not at work, you might be right!!!

Any news if you will stop at Bilboa at the Pacific end of the PC. On the night before my last PC crossing, we found out we would stop between 6pm and 12 midnight, to refuel and re-supply before heading up to LA.
Up to that night we did not know anything about it, but we were not alone, all of the three cruise ships that had travelled with us through the PC stopped there, and there was a harbour side market, and some cruisers hired taxis to Panama city for the evening.

Andy, aren't you feeling a bit strange now? Maybe a terrible headache or unknown illness? ;)

Andy, can't forget the high fever either....

I know what its called, let's call it repo-itis...I know I have had a raging case of it since Saturday... :rotfl:

I personally think it is more of a "mental" thing, some sort of addiction..... :rotfl2: A "dis" addiction......

I was asked to post this, since Bonzie1 does not have an internet account on board. All errors in spelling, etc are mine, and result from trying to transcribe this...

Through the Panama Canal on the Disney Magic - May 20, 2005
by Bonzie1

We've left Curacao behind
But wait till tomorrow and you will find
A brand new journey for us in store
It's something that's never been done before
The Disney Cruise Line will make it's first trip
A momentous occasion for this Magic Ship
On Friday, the twentieth of May
Two thousand and five, we will all sail away
The Panama locks will be opened wide
And soon, we'll be traveling safely inside
First up is Gatun, then Pedro Miguel
Then it's through Miraflores, oh the tales we will tell
We did it! We made it. We rose up and down!
It was quite a tight fit. We could not turn around!
From ocean to ocean the crews did not rest.
They got the ship through from the East to the West.
The adventure's not over. We're all far from through
With excursions and seminars there is much more to do.
From KINGDOM to KINGDOM our mission is sure
We're bringing the Magic to Disneyland's door.

They just posted the schedule for tomorrow's transit through the canal. Keep in mind that all times are the equivilent of Central Time (so add one hour to Eastern Time...). These times may adjust slightly, depending on canal traffic.

Pilot boards for Canal Transit at Cristobal: 0500
Entering Gatun Locks: 0630
Departing Gatun Locks: 0820
Entering Pedro Miguel Locks: 1300
Departing Pedro Miguel Locks: 1350
Entering Miraflores Locks: 1420
Cleaing last Miraflores Locks: 1530

Verandah Man, You ARE calling in sick tommorrow aren't you?

Sorry, I wish I could, but I was out Wednesday due to getting a cortisone shot in my knee, so I can't afford to take Friday off as well. But, I will be checking in as often as I can during the day!!! :goodvibes

Does it really take almost 2 hours to get through the Gatun locks. Also I had read it was roughly an 8 hour trip through the canal, but this looks like it will take 9 hours from entering the first lock to exiting the second lock.
