Boy what a cruise this has been!!! What started out as a three day cruise was extended to four days, then five.

Instead of going to Nassau and Castaway Cay we sailed to Cozumel, Mexico.

We left Cozumel at 10:30pm and slowly sailed back to Port Canaveral hoping that it would be opened by 5PM this evening.

This afternoon Capt John informed us that PC isn't due to open until Thursday or later.

So we turned around and are sailing south once again to Port Everglades/Fort Lauderdale. DCL will then transport the passengers to airports, WDW resorts or back to PC for those of us who have cars parked there via buses.

Overnight accomodations will be given to passengers who can't get flights home on Tuesday.

Although many passengers/crew are getting antsy to get off the ship, I'm personally enjoying our "endless" cruise. The crew has gone out of their way to make our cruise "wonder"ful.

I was also happy to learn that the cars parked in DCL's PC terminal did not sustain any damage.

I expected to have a wonderful time on this cruise and all my expectations were met.

Now I just need to get a flight home, so the g'kids won't miss more than a couple of days of school ... they're due to start tomorrow (Sept 7th).

Glad you were able to enjoy your cruise and that your car will be OK when you get back to Port Canaveral. What a relief that must be. Good luck getting your flight back home. :wave2:

Yep, I'm really glad about the car, actually a rental minivan ... dummy me didn't get the extra insurance ... wasn't even thinking about Frances when we arrived on August 28th.

My son is thinking about renting a car tomorrow and driving back to Virginia with his son ... that way he can drop Christian off in NC where he lives before continuing home.

Christian has already missed 5 days of school, will miss another on Tuesday and his mom is getting frantic. Of course, I booked the cruise when she was still living in VA and missing school wasn't an issue <sigh>.

I wonder if DCL will put us up at WL since that's where we stayed during the land part of our land/sea vacation.

I sure feel sorry for the cruisers who were suppose to board the Magic on Saturday and the Wonder on Sunday ... what a scheduling nightmare!

Best wishes on your family's return home. As a teacher, I would think the school will understand the situation!

This has been a scheduling nightmare for some - But most important is that you are all safe and DCL is taking care of you! Have a safe journey home!
