Live from the 9/11 Magic

cmctammyg, Is the Magic still planning on going to CC on Friday with tropical storm Jeanne heading that way. We go on the Wonder tomorrow so our CC day would be Sat. Just wondering if we will make it there or not? Thanks.

To answer questions first:

Our original itinerary was Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and CC. It was changed upon boarding to San Juan, St Thomas and either CC or a day at sea. Our itinerary remains San Juan (where we left yesterday - and yes you could get off the ship and TONS of people did and spent the night in hotels, or just went out to party and got back on that night...the kids clubs were so full they had to turn kids away around 10:00 p.m.), Nassau tomorrow and CC on Friday. Saturday at CC is probably still okay. Jeanie should hit the Bahamas on Sunday...but who knows.

We had a great dinner last night at Palo and brunch there today. I will post more about that when I get back home (we are going to WDW for four days after the cruise).

The computers were down for a while today due to a virus.

The sailing today has been the smoothest we have had the whole trip. The sun has been shining and all is well!

Last night was Pirates in the Caribbean pirate: and we received a limited edition print in our rooms (Mickey and Friends dressed as pirates at Castaway Cay).

Have a great day!!::MinnieMo

Every problem is an opportunity!

Sounds like you have a great trip going.

Waiting to here all about CC tommorow.

Have a great time

Jim

Thanks for the update. Keeping my fingers crossed for CC on Saturday.

Just a note for those planning to go Western soon, apparently Grand Cayman has some severe problems. Captain Tom announced today it would be some time before they could sail back into there.

All is still going well here. Have a great evening!

I didn't think this was possible. I thought they stopped booking ppl on cruises if they are sailing with kids who would cause the clubs to be overcrowded. Was this official information given to you by a CM or was this just heard through the grapevine?

Thx TAmmy for the updates, I hope all is well at sea and in CC!!

We just finished dinner and are sailing toward Castaway Cay. We ported as planned in Nassau today. It was a nice day with lots of sun. Tonight they had a sail-away party with free drinks for 45 minutes on deck.

The computers have been down A LOT during this trip, so I will try to report on CC tomorrow...but who knows if they will be up.

As for the children info, that came from a waiter. Apparently, porting late at night for "off ship" entertainment is not something they have really ever had to deal with, so this was the first time it was an issue. I have kids on the ship, but let me tell you, there are more kids on this cruise than I have ever seen. The same waiter also said the kid:adult ratio on this cruise is almost 50:50 if that gives you any idea.

Today my son did go to the Club while we shopped in Nassau. It looked like there were about 30 kids, 5-7, in there during the morning for the most part today (just observation...not necessarily accurate numbers).

Have a great evening!

We will be stopping in Freeport tonight to get some more fuel, and then we will dock at castaway cay tomorrow morning at 9
They say they vegitation may be a little brown, but, Hey, we'll be on the island :-) woo hoo...

Just bumping this up.

Just saw the Wonder in Nassau and it looks like a beautiful day in the Bahamas.

Hope you are having a "magic'al time on CC.

Did you see the kitty?

So happy your cruise is going so well between all the storms!! San Juan sounded really fun! Hope your last day is terrific!

Castaway Cay was fabulous as always. There is visible damage to the vegitation and land, but overall, everything looks great. I did notice the "Welcome to Castaway Cay" sign was missing and there was a sign about Frances up. It was my understanding that due to the damage, all beaches were open to EVERYONE today. I stayed on the family beach and went parasailing, so I don't know how that impacted the other beaches.

Have a great evening and I will try to post some pictures when I get home from the World!

So awesome that you all got to CC! It looks like Jeanne will spare the island any further damage before we have a chance to get there.

A question for anyone on the Magic. Do you know if all of the excrusions remained available or were some of them curtailed as a result of the damage. We have the glass bottom boart tour booked and the personal watercraft tour. Hoping now that we are going to the island, that we'll still get to do these.

Thanks!

You made to Castaway Cay. Yay, YAY YAY!!! I won't believe it till I have my own feet in the sand, but it's almost a miracle that it could suffer 100+mph winds for hours and be open within weeks. Thanks so much for the update.

It was from the bridge webcam from one of the other ships docked there.

The "Welcome" sign wasn't down due to the hurricane. It has actually been gone since mid-May of this year (or possibly earlier).

So happy that CC is still intact!

Why is the welcome sign gone? It always looks so great in photos. Is it ocming back?
