We've logged in using our cell phone as a modem and just wanted to say we are finally here. Lines were massive at check in. You can now check your kids into the kids club at the terminal in the Cafe (which is closed for remodelling). The lines there were massive as well (and pretty slow). then the machine broke to make the wrist bands for the kids, we we ended up having to get one once on board.

We ate lunch at Topsiders (packed beyond description) and then walked about a bit. We are waiting for our luggage to arrive. Not super happy about the cleanliness of our cabin, which seems to be covered with sticky soda and nothing appears to have been wiped off in a while (tons of dust everywhere). So far I'd give first impressions as a 5 on a 10 point scale.

We just got off the 12-4/12-11 Magic.

Call Guest Services IMMEDIATELY. Since our cruise was not sold out, your cabin may not have been occupied in a while. Someone on our cruise called and asked for someone to come and clean SOMETHING and they moved her and upgraded her.....

Cruisenewbie2004 - sorry that you had a bad first few hours... I hope that things straighten out quickly (I'm pretty sure that they will.....)

Make sure you keep the Magic in good condition for the 10 Day Cruisers that follow you.....:earboy2: I'm sure that the ones following us are worried about how we'll leave the ship (if they aren't - should they be???)

I have saved all year for our cruise. We've traveled all over the world but have never cruised before. I've been a reader of this forum as well as the Passporter's Guide book for Disney Cruises. We're counting down now -- we leave 12/28 on the Magic.

This post about crowds and messy room has me feeling worried. If this is our experience I will be one disappointed and angry customer. :sad2:

We have traveled twice before and as you read the boards there are people who have traveled 40 times on DCL.. This has bot been my experience. I can assure you if you call guest services they will handle any problem, quickly. We only had a problem with the toilets and they were on it, now.

Have an open mind and try not to expect to much. That way you will expierence the magic. We had sailed on NCL and only had that (as far as cruise ships) to compare to. We were VERY happy and I am sure you will be also. DCL tries hard to please.

Okay I deserved that. What I was reallyy trying to say was that they sent someone right away to fix the problem.

How is that for recovery?

No you shouldn't be worried.... even about the 12/18 Holiday cruisers.... we promise to leave the ship in serviceable condition..........

Seriously - It is unusual for there to be a complaint like this....... Just remember - you're on vacation - enjoy it.....

Have a great trip, thx for posting.......see Guest services and I'm sure they'll take care of you!!

Let me chime in to hope that by now you've contacted Guest Service and all the problems are totally fixed. Crowds in the terminal can't be helped since everyone wants to get on the ship asap. Since they've only been offering the kids registration in the terminal for a week or two, they may have a bug or two to still work out.

Every time DD the crewmember hears about a problem a guest has had, her first question is "Did they call Guest Services immediately?" From everything I've heard from her and everything I've read on these boards, a room that isn't in "Excellent" condition is extremely unusual.

Here's some pixie dust for the rest of your cruise. Have a Magical Time.

I saw the line for the kid's program in the terminal. I filled out the form in the boarding line & we went to the club to check the kids in after Palo resies & lunch at Parrot Cay. It took a couple minutes & that was it. It didn't take us long last year either.
