Live from the 10/16/04 Magic

The weather has been wonderful. St. Thomas -- wow, I don't even know how to describe how beautiful it is. I liked St. Maarten, but I LOVE St. Thomas. Picture-postcard beautiful, friendly people, great shopping (from someone who does not like to shop!) and incredible views, beaches.....we are heading towards Castaway Cay, although we won't get there until Friday morning, we have a LOONG way to go.

One thing I noticed about this itinerary is that the motion is much more noticeable. It doesn't seem that the seas appear rougher, but the motion has been fairly constant whenever we are moving -- sometimes more, sometimes less but we have noticed it much more than on our Western and Wonder cruises. Is this just me, or perhaps this is unusual? I have stayed on Bonine this trip, when before I tapered off after crossing the gulf. I haven't gotten sick, but since I am very prone to motion sickness I have been afraid to stop the med with the continuing motion.

I haven't checked on any specific CM's on board as Guest Services has been busy when I've been by and thought about it. I will say that our servers have not been the greatest on this trip and we were surprised at how much of a difference it makes. Main server is always very rushed and drinks are forgotten, etc. I don't ask for lots of entertainment, just good service but this is our first time to not have "excellent" I:p service at dinner. Anyway, everything else is wonderful so I shouldn't really complain.

Glad I guessed right and all are having a MAGICal time. Saw your other post about Scoops. How cool.

Enjoy a "relaxing day at sea" tomorrow as DCL puts it.

FYI, I believe the Eastern is usually has a little more motion since your actually almost in the Atlantic and not as many islands to break the swells.

Enjoy

I agree that the Eastern trip is more swaying and windy than the Western. I'm not sure if that is always the case. I like smooth sailing better, but I do love visiting St. Thomas, it is a jewel in the Caribbean.
