You know, staying in a 2BR has been so comfortable for us. In fact, almost too comfortable, because we almost didn't get back out to the MK for our last night in the World. We stayed in til about 7 p.m. and then made our way over to MK. MK was open til midnight with Extra Magic Hours til 3 a.m. And they had opened at 8 a.m. Can you imagine doing a full day? I can't.
Anyway, we arrived with a set of Big Thunder and Peter Pan fast passes. The boys asked about doing Splash Mountain so we decided to go see about the FP return time. We took the train around to Fronteirland. The FPs had an 8:50 return time which was ok but the boys decided not to do it after all. I gave them the two FPs for Big Thunder and sat it out myself. They used one and saved the other for later. While they were on the ride, I got the popcorn for DS14 (and me).
Then off we went to Neverland - only to find that it was currently not working. Boo. But the CM said it should be back online soon, so we walked over to Snow White and had our last scary adventure for the trip. We also talked about that's why you don't leave something to the last minute because you might end up disappointed.
As it turned out, when we were finished with Snow White, Peter Pan was back in flight, and we were glad to have the FPs as the queue was immediately long. I absolutely love this attraction, particularly the flight over London - we spent a few days in London during the summer as pre- and post-Northern European Capitals
DCL cruise.
DS14 wanted to see the Main Street Electrical Parade. It was 8:45 with a parade start time of 9 p.m. on Main Street which meant 9:15-9:20 over in Fronteirland. No wait at the Haunted Mansion although there were loads of people hovering around the entrance to the queue so it made it look like there might be a line. Move along people! We later decided that it must be a lot of people's first night here so they were still head-first into the map and no plan of action. Anyway, the Haunted Mansion at night is good - your eyes don't have to adjust from the sunlight.
We had time to find a spot in front of the Diamond Horseshoe for parade viewing - in fact, DH and I even got to sit which was good because my feet were aching. We hadn't had Dole Whip floats yet so DH and I decided to go on over during parade time to get them while it wasn't busy. We told the boys to go to Big Thunder after the parade and then meet us by the Tree House. That turned out to be a great plan as we had no wait for the Dole whips and we had a great place to sit and just wait for the boys. They called us from Big Thunder to say the standby wait was non-existent so they wanted to do standby and then FP, so we agreed.
While we were waiting for them, Wishes started so we moved where we could see the fireworks. The boys arrived just as they ended. There was no wait at Aladdin, so they went to do that and then the Tree House. DS13 wanted a Dole Whip float, so we got that for him and then slowly strolled out of the MK for our last time this trip.
The bus line was pretty long when we got there at 10:55. A bus came within 5 minutes but it was shift change plus a
scooter to load, so we were another 15 minutes before being onboard. We had to stand - besides the trip from DHS to Animal Kingdom on Saturday, this was the only other time we had to stand on the bus.
So finally back to the villa by 11:30 - time for a last load of laundry - and still no packing. The boys were asleep by midnight - me, not so much. And up early today with no desire to pack. DH has gone for his morning run, I changed our breakfast reservations from Cape May to Whispering Canyon (mostly a budgetary decision!) and really need to get the packing done - but thank goodness it's not a bunch of dirty clothes!
