Writing from #2914 at OKW. We love being on Peninsula Road, although we were a little concerned about being on the ground floor. But we either have great folks above us or no one at all! We arrived on 8/18, a little after 2 PM. Room not ready so we bought our APs & went to Epcot. We got stuck in a major storm & we're not at all prepared i.e. our rain gear was still in our packed car. Sat in wet clothes thru a good dinner at Bistro de Paris, which was half-empty. Next day, we were at MGM and returned for a little afternoon swimming and Member Day. We waited over 45 minutes for a bus. Finally, after the third Coronado Springs bus arrived to an empty bus stop, some people who were waiting longer than us approached the bus. The driver contacted the dispatcher, who claimed a OKW bus had been thru 8 minutes earlier. NOT. They changed the C.S. bus to OKW. But we were still late for Member Day. We joined, in-progress, a drawing for DVC gifts. I was happy that DS(9) won a 10 yr. pin. He really loves to win. I also felt a little magic when a young man with Downs Syndrome who was very excited by the drawing, won the last watch and the whole crowd cheered for him. We went to the pool after the drawing and got caught in a sudden severe storm. As DS & I ran back to our unit, a CM stop his golf cart & drove us to our unit. We had a wonderful meal at Artist Point. The complimentary valet parking really helped in the rain and the 10% discount was graciously honored. Rain forced us to cancel our plans to go to an Orlando Rays game (free w/ AP). We had a wonderful day at MK today & we're off to California Grille for dinner. No lime green ribbons yet, but I keep forgetting to take my ribbon w/ me to the parks. We're at OKW until Sun AM & then we finish our trip w/ a few days at HH.

Great news. I miss OKW just hearing you talk about it.
I am lost on the lime green ribbon. What ia that all about?

Thanks for sharing your OKW thoughts.

Lime green ribbons are worn to recognize a fellow Dis'er. They work! Summer 2002 Donna, from Dreams Unlimited, noticed my ribbon at Epcot and we had a nice chat.

WE arrive at OKW tomorrow (Friday). I am not wearing a lime green ribbon, but will have a lime green Mickey outline paintchip from Home Depot!;)

MAN!!! I'm sitting here online reading this waiting for DW to get home. She should be here within the hour. She's bringing the kids back for MIL to keep and take to school tomorrow so we can leave today instead of tomorrow soooo...... I'll be at the Holiday Inn west of the park tonight but at OKW checking in tomorrow morning!!!!

Dinner at CG was wonderful, as usual. It was the first time that we ate there in daylight, because we usually try to coordinate dinner w/ the fireworks. Taking the fireworks out of the mix changed the whole dinner. Restaurant was so relaxed that we ate dinner for almost 2 hours. Any thought of hustling back to MK, via monorail, to catch Spectro was lost before dessert arrived. We went to Epcot today & the bus service was fine both there and back. We came home in a storm. We plan to return to Epcot tonight to eat at LeCelier and maybe catch Illuminations, depending on the weather. If its raining hard we may just drive to BW or BC, valet park & take the boat into dinner. If the rain stops, we will take the bus. We'll be looking for those lime green Mickeys, Diane!

Even with the rain it sounds like a fun time. Thanks for the post. Enjoy! By the way, Disney rain always seems less irritating than rain at home. We just keep on having fun :)
