Live from HRH

Arrived yesterday at HRH thought I'd start my trip report now.

Flight on spirit out of Chicago was delayed an hour due to weather. Arrived about 45 minutes late, not too bad. Then had to get luggage and rental car from Avis.

I was very nervous about driving but easily found my way to publix then HRH, where I decided to splurge and valet park. Won't need car till tonight for mvmcp.

Saturday night: son was tired so we took an hour to rest and hit the parks at 6 pm. It felt pretty crowded. DM had a 20 min EP wait so we skipped it since US was closing at 7 pm. Did twister (lame) and tried to do ET but it was broken. By that time son was hungry so we went to IOA for dinner. Finally got to try 3 broomsticks. Ordered rib platter which was disappointing. Would not go there again. Rode FJ with 15 min wait and flight of hippogriff with no wait. Skipped olivanders again. Rode pteranodon flyers and high in the sky carousel. Love going through the circus mcgurkus cafe!
Somewhere between entering IOA and HP my son lost his cell phone. I had called my DH and had him cancel the phone, but on our way out we checked lost and found and there it was! Will call tomorrow to reactivate.
Then to bed!
Sunday am: son slept till 845 am, then we splurged and ordered breakfast from room service. Not as impressive or as good a value as the lunch/dinner menu. Love the club sandwich! We plan to hit the pool after breakfast to save our feet for mvmcp tonight!

Had a great time at the pool- heated and very relaxing at HRH pool!

After 2 hour swim went on ET (front row- awesome!), mib, Simpsons and DM with no waits! Had a great morning, now having lunch at NBA city. Great wings so far!

Drive to mk was easy and quick. Parking at ttc and tram in was painless. They let us in at 3:45 pm. Maybe it's because it's close to Xmas but its pretty crowded and every ride is a 20 min wait. We waited less time before mvmcp started!
We did what we wanted to and plan to head back about 8:45 pm so we can swim at HRH. Disney has lost it's magic for us. We're now universal people!

Glad you are having a good trip! Is this your 1st trip to US/IOA? We're going for the first time (well, DH & I have been to US, but it was about 15 years ago) in January. Love hearing that the lines aren't bad!

Thanks for reading! This is our 2nd time to us/IOA. We came last year Xmas week so I guess any other time seems empty!

Just had another relaxing hour in the pool and heading to circus mcgurkus for lunch.

Well, apparently any food items I
Like are doomed! Margaritaville took the ribs off their menu, and the kitchen at HRH took the pot roast off the menu, so we had dinner at NASCAR cafe. The ribs were too spicy but my son enjoyed his kids pizza. We played minigolf at the new Hollywood drive in mini golf at citywalk. It was fun. They have trivia you answer while playing and you get scratch off cards. We got a buy one get one scratch off and they allowed us to prebuy at the 2nd game rate so well be back tomorrow! Then had a Cinnabon and back for more swimming before bed.

try Latin Quarters at city walk.
check the menu online to see if you will like it.

the foods i love you might hate, so check the menu first.


the Bubba Gumps at CW is the same as the one at Navy Pier.
over priced and not worth it unless it is the ambiance you are going for.


kitchen has a good breakfast buffet.


if they took something off the menu that you loved, ask the server to talk to the chef and see if they will make it for you.
worth a try....


go back and do DM.
it is a hoot............

We're thinking of going to US/IOA and staying at RRP this spring. Do you plan to post up any pics? Always good to read a recent review before a trip.
