Live from Hilton Head June 15th-25th 2008, Anyone Else?

That is true, I know I will be spending a lot of time at the pool.

I know we are planning to go to the Tuesday BBQ, we are going to skip the low-boil. We go to the mix-ears.

We could set up a meet time for the pool area Sunday evening. I know a lot are driving in and will probably just be ready to relax and unwind. I think it would be fun to have our own cookout on Thursday night (and a lot cheaper than than the low boil), if there is any interest in that.

Hey All!

We will be hanging by the pool Sunday evening after we cook out for Father's Day. I am going to try to get something together so hopefully we will be identifiable. Hope to meet many of you while we are enjoying HHI.:goodvibes

Has anything been "formalized" for a meet? We're going to just be there for two nights -- Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th.

DS (Harry) is working as a CM in the rec department at DHHIR this summer and the 15th is his birthday, so the we're gathering there to celebrate that and Father's Day! Then we're on our way to WDW for a friend's daughter's wedding on June 20. (Never been to a Disney wedding before!)

Let me know if you have something planned for Sunday evening. I think there is usually a campfire on Sunday night.

Also, when you see Harry during the week, (he will be lifeguarding and doing other things with the rec staff) be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday! :bday: He's off on Saturday and Sunday to spend time with us, but he should be around the rest of the week!! (Won't he hate me for posting this, LOL :rolleyes1 )

We're also driving down from Ohio and will be arriving early morning on the 16th, checking out on the 21st. I hope you have a fun meet on Sunday and hopefully we'll be able to identify some of you during the week. We'll have a 6 and 3 1/2 year old and will spend a lot of time with the activities and at the pool! We're also planning on the Tuesday night BBQ

Nope nothing has been formalized at all! But I'll try to have something that is noticeably the Dis color. I'll be on the lookout for Harry to while we are there. Hope he is liking it so far. I have to say that the cm at HHI are some of the nicest I've met. See you Sunday:goodvibes

Vince 43, DW Mary 39, DD Melissa 14, DDF Ashley 14, DS Noah 12, DS Matthew 9, and DS Reily 3. Look for us. Not sure we have and DVC attire though.

OK Paula, we got rained out last night!! What to do now?? We are staying in the lodge 1128. Let us know:) My DH thinks you DH is shooting pool right behind me as I type, so I might just ask him :rotfl2: . Hope everyone is having a great trip!!!

Yes, we sure did get rained out last night! We enjoyed the pool today. We are in 1823. Room is really nice--no complaints whatsoever! I am sitting by the pool now--trying to catch up on my emails. I can't get the wireless in our villa and this morning the sun just wouldn't cooperate with my screen before the battery died. LOL

I made magnets for everyone--(18 of them). Tomorrow the boys and my sister's family are going kayaking---I'll be at the pool. Just need to remember the sunscreen---I forgot it today:)

What do you think would be a good meeting place. I printed a couple of blank signs that say Dis Meet on them. I was going to post it at the rental booth by the pool. Have any suggestions? I found out today they don't do the mixear anymore.:goodvibes

Hi guys...we're in room 1134, right in Live Oak Lodge through Sunday. We've been having fun...BBQ last night and the campfire this evening, with lots of swimming and kids activities. My six year old daughter just learned how to ride a two wheel bike and she is thrilled, so watch out for a six year old with a pink helmet zooming around...We'd love to meet other Disers so stop by and leave a note if we're not around. We'd also stop by for a meet...just let us know.

My guys are out shark fishing this morning. Hannah's Dad I am leaving you a magnet on your door. Hope to meet up with you this week.:)

It is funny Hannah's dad and i were talking a couple of days before we realized who each other was.

Okay Disers come out come out where ever you are..............

They have the pool closed now for thunder. We spent the day at the beach. You can use your room key to charge the chairs and umbrellas. 2 chairs and an umbrella will set you back $30.

Yesterday was a great day shark fishing. They must have caught 20 or more between them and 2 stingrays. The largest was a 5ft bull nose. I'll post some pictures later. It was more expensive than the last time we were here..$450 for up to 6 in a boat for about 4 hours. They want to go again on Tuesday I think---I think I may let Adam pay for the next one.

Internet is not really very good here--can pick it up at the pool, beach house and Big Murggies Den. We are in building 18 and can't pick up any signal at all. It will be nice when they have it resort wide. Since I am one of the smokers in the group--there is no where that you can enjoy a cigarette while being online. The smoking areas they have for us are very nice, comfy chairs and out of the way of the walking paths. The folks beside us are smoking on their balcony--but I am just not a rule breaker. So I am a little out of my element--I take my 1st cup of coffee to the smoking area and enjoy my second where I can catch up on work for a bit.

We're leaving tomorrow AM for our 12 hour drive down. We can't wait to get there! So what are the ocean temps like?

Ocean was very nice today! Safe travels:goodvibes

We are leaving at 3:00 PM tomorrow for our 17 hour drive. I hope that we have good weather.

John, safe travels! The weather has been great--rained last Sunday in the late afternoon and a few sprinkles here and there. Savannah had some nasty weather--but we were dry. They have closed the pool several times due to thunder. Today must be a heavy checkout--there is NO ONE at the pool right now and not a towel in sight saving any chairs.

Ihope that everyone is having a great time. We look foward to a relaxing vacation before going to WDW. This will be our niece's first time so it will be extra special.

Paula! Good luck meeting all of the folks from the disboards! Man, Hannah's Dad was right there in the lodge with us and we never even
knew it! We made it home ok and now have to start packing for my oldest's trip to Europe. He leaves in 12 days!!! for three weeks!!
It was great meeting you. Thanks so much for our sign.:)

Sounds like you're having a great time! I was wondering-how do you like the location of your villa, on the top floor of the main lodge? We've been up there near 1134 several times and we love it-great views, and so nice for the convenience to Big Murgie's Den (a spot I love to visit)? Although we enjoy being up there, I met someone once whose villa was in the main lodge and they didn't like it-they really preferred being out in other buildings. Enjoy yourself-I'm jealous you're there and we're not.

Hey guys! Need a little advice.... Called a couple of days ago and MS actually had 2 nights available for us next week at Hilton Head!! This will be our first time ever at Hilton Head and was wondering what would you recommend for great restaurants that are not so expensive on the island. We have been to Savannah and know of several places that we love there. Looking forward to relaxing and just having fun (food is always part of that!) We have just gotten through with Bible School this past week and are looking forward to a little R & R.

Simba's Mom, we were in the lodge and loved it! We have been on the top floor once, but our view this time was better on the second. You do take the chance of having more "noise" from above if you aren't on the top though. We had our best view ever in our villa this year.
