Arrived here Sunday after spending 2 days in a parking lot 43 miles from the Fort. The brakes went out on the MH. Mechanic got things working enough so we could limp here on Sunday. Now we are stuck. Parts are on order but won't get here til next week. Oh well, not a bad place to be stuck. LOL

The Fort is EMPTY! I have never seen it so empty. There were 9 open campsites here in loop 400 this morning and more have opened up as the day has progressed. The whole campground is so quiet. There are golf carts aplenty available at the Bike Barn. Triathalon is here this weekend, so things are expected to pick up.

lol, because of your font, it looks like we're getting a press release!!

And yea, if you're going to get stuck, get stuck at the Fort!!! Be sure to keep us updated, and have fun! :)

Yea, this is kind of a dead time at the Fort, because most people are planning on going for Memorial Day, and school is still in session for most people, so I'm not surprised that mid week it's dead. Don't worry, it will pick up really soon...lol

Sounds peacefull!! Sorry about the mechanical problems, but youre right, if ya gotta be stuck somewhere....the forts a geat place to be stranded!!!

We will be there in 7 days, I have a feeling it wont be so empty and peacefull...since all public schools will be out.

Sorry to hear about the brakes on the MH....BUT, what a great place to be "stuck". :goodvibes

Enjoy FW and the parks (if you are going to them) while it's slow...it's about to get busy busy!!

Have fun!! :goodvibes

I hope your parts come in quickly (not that you really want them too) and the mechanic does not cost you a fortune.

Have a blast and enjoy the emptiness!

Congratulations!!!! er....i mean...sorry? Maybe it will take a month to get the parts and you'll just have to stay longer......

We were there from Thursday, May 8 until Sunday, May 11. Thursday was the most peaceful we had ever experienced of our four different stays at the fort. By Friday evening, the place was much busier. The parks were crowded. I really enjoyed that peaceful day!

How long did you plan on staying at FW anyway? Do you have to stay longer than intended? that would be such a shame :lmao: :rotfl2:

We had originally planned on leaving Sunday but get to extend til Tuesday now. Fort filled up yesterday (Friday). Only 1 empty site today.
Triathlon scheduled for tomorrow brought in a lot of people and the roads will be very congested. Motor launch service to MK will be suspended til 9:30 am and busses will run different routes. We have had informational mesages left on the windshield explaining how everything will work. It will be interesting, to say the least.
