So far not impressed. Requested either casitas or cabanas, got stuck in ranchos as far out as possible, seriously, we are on the 3rd floor in a corner room at the very end. Yes, I know requests aren't guarenteed, but still disappointed. Loud, rowdy people next door, I know that can happen anywhere, but feeling like we should have saved some $ and just stayed at Pop. The landscaping is beautiful here, but that's about it, less than impressed with pepper market. I think I just built this trip up so much in my mind and am feeling a little let down. I know I'd never even consider staying here without a car.

Sorry about that. I was also disappointed with CSR, especially with it being packed with conventioneers the week we were there. The Pepper Market used to be good; not so much anymore. Oh well, hopefully things will improve for you; good luck!

Thanks, I'm sure part of it is because I'm annoyed at myself for forgetting my bathing suit so I couldn't even go sit in the hot tub and I'm sore and tired. Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day!

O, and the pillows are made for the 7 dwarves I think, have never seen such small pillows! :rotfl:

I'm sorry! We love CSR. Here's a tip for the pillows, pull the pillow cases all the way out (they tuck them in for some reason) and fluff the pillows. That helped us a ton. As for the room, did you do online check in when it became available? We've never not had a request met when we do online check in early. If you are really unhappy with the room don't settle. Go to the front desk and ask to speak with a manager, and nicely but firmly tell them the location is not acceptable and you want to be moved. You have to be willing to wait for a different room, but if it's going to make or break your trip do what you have to do. I hope this gets worked out! We don't love pepper market either but we have a car and tons of adr's and food in room for that purpose. Enjoy your vaca! :wizard:

Yes, we did online check in at the 10 day mark. Trust me, if our loud neighbors are still here tonight, we will ask to be moved. The only reason we didn't last night was because we were all unpacked, food in the fridge, etc. and we're frankly way too tired to think of packing up. It's quite a hike just to our car from our room. Ah well, we're off to the parks, I'm sure it will be a good day!

Have fun! I really hope you enjoy your time and your neighbors shut up!!! We had some not so considerate neighbors this past trip either. Finally my husband said something :-0 hahaha

We checked in to CSR on the 5th for two nights. We were doing a split stay followed by BC for 6 nights. We also requested Cabanas and were assigned to Ranchos. I did online check in 10 days prior, and also had the request noted on my reservation. I was told there was nothing in cabanas for my length of stay.

It was our first ever moderate stay, and we just didn't care for it. So much so, that we tried to move to BC after only one night. Unfortunately, BC was sold out. We didn't hate CSR but were so happy to check out of CSR and in to BC. We might have felt differently if we weren't so far away from everything though. I don't think we will be going back.

Hope your trip improves!!!!! when we stayed at CSR they didn't have preferred rooms at the time but we were put in Casitas 3. I def. would not have been happy in Ranchos. Ugh - I hope your noisy neighbors check out soon. We had horrible neighbors on a trip (not disney) and it kept me awake half the night. Luckily they checked out after two nights.

Sorry about your neighbors. Try Cafe Rix we liked it way better-The food came out of the lounge kitchen the food was hot & fresh. I would only stay at CSR agian if we didn't have a car found the bus service best we ever had at WDW.

Casitas 3 is preferred! That's awesome!!! Pixie dust!!!

Sorry about the bad location and rude neighbours. I'd be down at the front desk telling them about the problem with the neighbours. If they couldn't find us another room, I'd ask to move resorts. Sadly you can get rude obnoxious neighbours at any resort. But in all my wdw trips I've only encountered this once. And thankfully it was our last night that new family moved next door. At POR. They let their kids run screaming up and down the outside walkways, running in and out of the room, slamming doors, ugh.

We were put in Ranchos 6B or 7B (can't remember which) when we went to CSR in 2010. We had to drag our luggage all the way there (we were never offered any kind of concierge help and being our first (adult) trip there we didn't know to ask.) Our room was right next to the elevator and our Water View room was a mostly-obscured view of a small pool for the area. Needless to say I was very frustrated as it was the first time my now-DW had been to Disneyworld and my first since time since I was 10. Needless to say I was very frustrated. I called Guest Services to explain the situation (the WV issue being the main point) and the first person I spoke to was very rude and said nothing could be done, point blank! I was ready to scream but hung up and tried again. The second person I spoke to was much nicer and extremely helpful. They sent someone in a cart to pick us up and moved us to Cabanas 9B where we had a gorgeous view of the lake and were very close to the main building.

My recommendation would always be to call and tell them you're situation. The worst they can say is no (but hopefully not as rudely as the 1st person I spoke with did!) Good luck! :thumbsup2

I stayed at CSR last month and I loved it. Although I was used to staying at ASM (I can never stay there again after staying at CSR), but I really loved it. We requested Casitas and did the online check-in 10 days in advance. We were put in Casitas 1 with the fountain right outside our room. It was so beautiful and so quiet. I couldn't have asked for a better room!

OP, I'm sorry you got stuck on the 3rd floor in Ranchos, but like others have said I would be down at the desk complaining and asking for a different room (I did that at ASM this year).

I agree with others in asking to move..

We stayed in Cabanas and it was close to everything with a gorgeous water view (paid for standard)...

We usually stay Deluxe but I love CSR and it really has a Deluxe feeling to it.. I would not hesitate to stay there again!!

Argh! It seems our noisy next door neighbors left but I think the rest of this building is filled with 20 something south American males who like to party all night. They were out in the hallway laughing really loud at around 3 am, but after I got up, stuck my head out the door and shushed them it was better. I really want to move locations, but DH really doesn't want to pack up all our crap and haul it several buildings away to the car and then unload it who knows where. Sigh, this is why we'll never be able to do a split stay either.

Like I said, it's beautiful here, DD has seen more little lizards and stuff than anywhere else and she loves the big pool & slide. I think part of the issue is that our last 2 visits were at CR and AKL so just not fond of outside corridors. We're having a blast at the parks though, got to ride the new Ariel ride at 10 last night and checked out BOG! MNNSHP tonight so all is good!

eta: I would have booked preferred but that option didn't come up when I booked, assuming because of the conventions going on.

Depending how many nights you have left I would switch. We've switched rooms many times because of location. Shouldn't take more than a half hour to throw your stuff in the suitcase and unload. You paid for a nice vacation.

We think it has a deluxe feel too! The queen beds, fitness center/spa , gorgeous landscaping...

The last two nights have been blissfully quiet thank goodness!

We came back to our room Sunday night late after MNSSHP and found a little tree frog IN our room! DD thought it was too cool and wanted to keep it, uh good luck getting that through airport security! We did see tons of frogs in the corridors, but that was the first one we've had inside. All in all, not a bad stay, but not what we had anticipated either.

Eta: wifi and cell service have been great, no problems at all.

Glad your stay is going better. I always find that the weekends are so much noisier at all the resort hotels.
