Just arrived yesterday...

1 hr 5 min from walking up to ME to arriving at lobby...

30 min wait in lobby to check in all becuase of 2 parties with seemingly unsolvable problems... never have I waited that long!

Got our room request which is first floor facing quiet pool...

Walked in and wondered "what's that smell?" It's new carpet!
Our room is freshly renovated in fact I think we are the first ones in it since all the new lights in the bedroom are not plugged in. New ihome clock radio, fresh paint. A few pieces of new furniture. New fold out couch.
TVs still old.

Had dinner at Earl of Sandwich, yum.

Questions welcome!

Oh you are so lucky! :goodvibes I have to wait over 7 months for my next trip!

do you like the new decor? Can you tell if you got new appliances and if you use the W/D...does THIS dyer actually dry clothes? ;)

Enjoy!

Thanks for the play by play so far! Love the times you included for ME and check in! :thumbsup2 Very helpful!
We leave Sunday for a 2 weeks stay, VWL and Kidani. We have never stayed that long before! So excited. But hard work packing for 2 little boys, DH and myself!
Wish I could fast forward to sipping a drink on the balcony!!!

Sounds like you have a preferred view room, which means they have completed rehab on some of those. Up until now I think I have only read reports of standard and BW view rooms being finished. Now I will be waiting for someone to post that the new TVs and armoires have arrived. Have a wonderful time. It seems like forever since I have been at BWV, so I will be reading every word of your TR!

Have a great trip :yay: Hope you'll be posting more & maybe some photos too ? Have a great time :goodvibes

Yayyyy, liking this so far...I hope we get a refurbished room in December!!! Post some pics please!!!! How is Earl of Sandwhich, my favoriet is the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwhich...yummmm, can't wait to bite into one!:goodvibes

They seem to be closing off sections of a hallway at a time for refurbishment. You can tell when you are walking through a newly done area bc the picket fence painted on the wall is no longer there and the carpet is fresh and new. They closed off the 2018-2027 section while we were there last week. We watched the parade of furniture as it was carried out.

Do things seem crowded to you?
How are the waits in the parks?
We will be checking in there next Sunday morning, so watch for lime green mickey heads!
I expected the restaurants to be packed but was hoping that everything else was managable, except the heat and the odd hurricane.
A few years ago this was one of the best times to go, but that was before free dining or even the dining plan existed. I'll just have to work a little harder to make sure we all have a great time...:thumbsup2

Hello again everyone.

Appliances are not brand new but close to it.
Yes ours is a preferred view, seems to be the only hall other than boardwalk view that is refurbed on the first floor.
Curtains are new but blankets and comforter are not.

We started in AK yesterday and used the central fastpass to our advantage. Make eye contact with a castmember who has a stack in their hand for extra fastpasses to a show. They had several times for Lion King and Nemo... and those are good for several days! Had a great safari ride, including a lioness on top of the rocks in plain view.

We had lunch at Chefs de France and afterward I went to pick up a rental car at Dollar (Regal Sun, picked up at Boardwalk by their shuttle van.)

My wife and daughter met our neighbors who were also here and their daughter and ours did some Kim Possible missions together.

After that we met at the Contemporary for a surprise I sprung on my family. A co-worker is stay here at Bay Lake Towers in a 2 bedroom, so we got to visit and get a look. They are wonderful! We have a soft spot for the contemporary so I love the decor. The curved hallways with the orange lit room number signs make me feel like I am in a space station.

They have a Magic Kingdom view. All that glass and patio space looking out onto the park... magnificent. I also think the space has increased a bit since the shrinking sizes of each DVC... I did not measure but it felt that way.

Today we started with Princess breakfast in Norway. Expensive, but at least you get a free picture package now. (Free, lol.) Stayed in EPCOT till it was too hot but got a ride on Soarin in and then back to the Boardwalk to cool off. Then an early dinner at Rainforest Cafe (without an ADR, easy) and a few hours in the Magic Kingdom with dole whip for dessert.

Crowds ... seemed light at AK, and EPCOT, but a bit heavy in the MK today. Definitely not feeling crowded overall.

Bus tranportation going OK but DTD buses are bad in the evening. Real bad. late, overcrowded. You simply cannot run a DTD route at 8pm to all 5 EPCOT resorts. Crazy.

Hope I answered some questions. I can't believe it's only been 2 days.

BTW I am using the new Sprint mifi celluar access point with my laptop. Works great in my room, and more convenient than using the cable.

m-i-c you real soon again.

Thanks for the update! Please please please continue to keep us updated on crowd levels - I am quite anxious about this since we'll be there starting next weekend! Another thread indicated that the crowds were crazy just last week, so hopefully you won't have that experience!

Crowds at HS were fairly "normal" yesterday, given there would be 2 shows of Fantasmic later. At EPCOT, however, it seemed light.

Looking forward to today as Florida schools start today!

So there are 2 small problems with our room: The remote control does not work on the DVD player, and the dryer is not very dry. We did a small load of launndry and it took over 3 hours. I called engineering and they came in an hour. I thought they cleaned out the dryer vent... but this morning I see what it really was. Remember all the scaffolding and exterior painting?

They painted our dryer vent shut. Yup! We'll see if it works better in a couple of days.

Weather: hot the last few days, but better yesterday. Humidity moderating a little and a bit of cloud cover helping. Only a little rain each day, nothing to worry about. Over by suppertime and did not stop any shows.

My brother took the DVC tour and got a handful of instant fastpasses we used yesterday for Rocn n Roller coaster and ToT. Nice! We also joined the crowd at opening on the run for Toy Story Mania. Got fastpasses for 10:40am and waited only 10 minutes in fastpass line.

Had lunch at Biergarten... it's been many years since we did it last... had a fantastic lunch, lots of wonderful food, and the liter of double bock beer made it all go down soooo smoooooth.

Today we will have lunch at Teppan Edo and dinner at Kouzzina!

See you all later!

We'll be joining you at BWV tomorrow afternoon, can't wait! Keeping our fingers crossed for a renovated room...
