I thought I would start a new thread on this! We just finished watching Illuminations from our balcony. It is nice to put the kids (Son - 6 and Daughter - 5) in their pjs and then sit out there and watch the fireworks and then put them to bed.

As I mentioned in the other post Allie the alligator is in the canel right below my balcony, this was the first thing I saw when I walked out on my balcony. I was talking to another guest here and she told me that there are actually 2 alligators here, one hangs out on one side of the villas and the other one hangs out on the other side. I asked her if she was sure it wasn't the same one, and she told me that she was positive, the other one was bigger and has alge on its bag. I don't want to run into that one, the one I saw is about 6 feet. I have a digital pic, but no web space to put it up. If anyone wants me to e-mail it to them to post, I can.

I am finding my way around here, our room is quite a hike from the main lobby, but I discovered today if I just go a few feet down to the end of the hallway and take the stairs it takes you right out into the parking lot which also is easier to get to the bus stop that way. There is also another set of stair that will take you to the walkway that is closer to Epcot.

Crowds at parks has been very light. The wheather has been hot. High 80's. It rained today a few times for about 5 minutes each time.

All in all it has been great. Any questions, I will be happy to answer them tommorrow evening when I log in. We will be here until Oct 12th.

I'm so glad you are having a great trip. Just the first of many to come. :)

We will be there Sunday with our three sons (2,4, and 6). How good of view fom the third floor do you get of Illuminations?

Did you request anything in particular or take what they gave you when you checked in? We will be @ BCV for Christmas and have requested an Epcot view, so hopefully it will be as good as yours.

I'm not bothered by gators, they are all a part of Florida living. I am surprised they have not been removed. Normally, any gators over 4 ft long are removed from a populated area and relocated.

Hi Terry,

I have a question? What room number are you in? Also could this room be used as a 2 bdrm. It'd be nice to know for future reference.

Have fun,
Lisa

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post. Hope you are having a great time!

Terry.......... go to hear your having a good time despite the room request thing.............

My only question is..... are you ready for another add on!! earseek:

It must be great to finally be at your BCV! Have a great vacation--hope it doesn't go by too fast.
I just read your thread on this "trial run" requests change. Geez...I haven't been on the DIS recently, and, this is the first I read about it. We will have to stay tuned to see how this all works out.
I'm interested to know what you thought of the Illuminations view from 3rd floor (room location?). That would be OK with me if you're able to see a good part of it.
Also, any other tips/advice for BCV? How was the trek to Storm-Along-Bay with young ones?--Did you show DVC ID to get in?
Thanks in advance!
Margaret

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. Our rooms is 371, it is a 1 bedroom that connects to a studio. It is smack dab right in the middle of the canel that goes under the BCV. The road is also right below us, but really isn't that bothersome. Spaceship Earth is right in front of us and you can see the illuminations off to your right. You really can see most of the fireworks from here. I can't see the globe or the water at all, but everytime I hear a firework go off, I can see it. I think the reason is that there are no trees directly in front of us, they are further accross the road so we don't have anything immediate blocking us. There are definately some better views, but this one isn't bad. I had requested 5th Floor Epcot view, but if you read my other thread you will see that the requests don't seem to matter, they don't pre-assign rooms.

As far as the walk to stormalong, it is about the same distance as the furtherest beach club room, it is a good distance, but not all that bad. We have walked there several times to go to Beaches and Creme and or the arcade, but we haven't been swimming as of yet so I can't tell you about the wristband.

Laurabearz... yes, I definately want to add on.

Terry,

Thanks for the "live update"!!!!

Terry-
Watching Illuminations from your balcony sounds incredible! I can't wait to go!
I'm looking forward to seeing the alligator picture....what do the kids think of the alligator?
Have a great trip!!!

Great report!

How is the room noise? Do you hear much from the hallway? Floor above? Room next door?

Thanks!

I can't wait to go! It sounds great. We are counting the days until our Dec. trip. Thanks for your report; it only builds our excitement more! Have a safe trip!

Hey Terry, Thanks for the trip report! After going through all the buy in and such since Feb it must be really something to finally be home! I can't wait until our late Dec trip allthough I can't complain, I'm writing from hawaii right now which isn't so bad! (visiting my sister and new niece) Wish they had DVC here! Have a great rest of the trip!!! karen

Well, we finally got a chance to go swimming at SAB. They are giving wristbands when you get a towel and they are also coming around asking those who don't have a wristband on to see their room key.

The crowds at the parks are still very light, and the wheather is still hot, high in the low 90's. It has been great! My son asked today how many days we have left and when I told him 4, he actually started tearing up, the kids love this place almost as much as me.

It sounds like you're having a great time Terry! Enjoy the rest of your trip!!:D

Hey, TerryS, we were practically neighbors (we were in 307). We overlooked Ariel's courtyard facing the giftshop side of BC. I'm sure we passed you in the halls or elevator at some point. I'm soooo jealous that I left and you got to stay on. Enjoy your last few days!

Vicki,
I hope you had a great stay at the BCV's. Send me an e-mail or PM when you get back to SA.;)

Hi, Terry. I'm glad you are all enjoying your stay so much!

I'm just wondering if you can hear the Illuminations music when you're out on your balcony?

Hope the rest of your trip is as wonderful as it has been so far! :D
