Live from AKL!!!!!

We arrived at AKL earlier today. While checking in, I overheard someone in front of me that showed up with no reservations, and they were told that the only room available was a deluxe water view and that was for only two nights. So, it sounds like the hotel is FULL.. but there isn't a ton of people around. It may pick up when people get in from the parks.

Our room was not ready when we arrived, we had to wait about 2 hours.. but that was okay, we explored the resort and rested in the lobby. We were given a bunkbed room, with a third floor view of Ashura Rock/savannah. We did pay for a savannah room, so it wasn't an upgrade, but a very nice room and view! We have already seen a ton of animals.

We are about to head down to Boma for dinner!! We aren't going into the parks until tomorrow.

Thanks for posting, please keep us posted. I get my WDW fix thru these live reports. Have fun, and enjoy. I haven't stayed at AK, but last time we where there we did visit the pool bar. I liked the resort very much.

We did get the tree and bag of goodies!! Everyone in the family was so excited! We put it on the nightstand between the beds and turned it on each evening. It made our room so festive!

The ponchos came in very handy a couple of times! We had great weather for the most part, but there were a couple of downpours that just came out of nowhere. We wore the lanyards all week, but didn't see anyone from the dis unfortunately. I will have to start getting my trip report together. We had a great time, but I have to say that I was really disappointed with AKL housekeeping this trip. We also had someone that was in the room next to us that kept throwing their cigarette butts off of the balcony. I might be mistaken, but I thought you weren't supposed to smoke on the balcony, that is how I remember it from 2001 before I stopped smoking.

Hi again, that's great news. I had the girls take the tree and goodies down to the front desk and I was worried the CM would screw up and not get it to you.

Glad you used the lanyards and ponchos The little tree was so pretty when it was lit up, it blended so well with the decor.
