My 33 year old daughter and I went to the funeral home this evening. The mother of a friend of hers (friends all through school) died on Friday.

She was diagnosed with cancer only 2 weeks ago. :sad1:

You never know what life will bring.

Totally agree.. we never know when our last day will be. My dad died at the age of 34. I try and enjoy every day with my family and friends as much as possible.

How terribly sad~ I'm so sorry you both and their family is going thru this; let alone right before a holiday.

You are so right~ I try to live every day to the fullest and see the good in everything!

Thank you for this reminder of how sweet and short life is!

I am so sorry for your loss. I will try to remember your words of wisdom this shopping season, uhm, I mean HOLIDAY season.

I agree-we just had a 13 year old girl in our town die from complications from a curling iron burn on her arm-you just never know. We also got news yesterday that a boy our kids went to elementary school with (he was a couple years older) died in a car accident at age 22.

After DH's Mom passed away at age 63 from ALS, I'm a firm believer in living for today, and not putting off until tomorrow. We try to do as much traveling as we can, while we still have our good health. Don't want to put it off for retirement, as who knows what kind of health we'll have by then, or if we'll even still be here!

I lost my husband (55) to cancer two years ago. During his eight month battle, I would tell everyone I know to embrace every boring, uneventful day you have. You just never know what is around the corner. My life changed forever on November 13, 2007 when an emergency room doctor said to my husband "Mr. __________ you have a tumor on your pancreas." Eight months later, he was dead.

Count your blessings every day!

I'm so sorry for your loss and offer my prayers . I wholeheartedly agree with living life to the fullest and making each day count. Sadly last year my loving soulmate suffered a serious health crisis and I almost lost him :worried:. I praise God and his doctors daily he is back 100%. :littleangel:

As seniors we've always tried to live and enjoy each day to the fullest, but this was a wake up call how much we take for granted, not to sweat the small stuff and to count our many blessings. Please take minute to tell your family/friends how much they mean and you love them, for we really never know what the next second holds in store. :flower3:

My heart and prayers go out to you, antmaril, and the many others suffering the sad loss loved ones. :grouphug:

Truer words were never spoken, OP.
I learned this lesson the hard way when my dad went into the hospital on Father's Day of last year, was in a coma the next day, and passed away 4 days later. :sad1:

I got to see him and talk to him on Father's Day, but didn't know it would be the last time. So there will always be those things that I wish I would have said and didn't.

So my motto now is always live and love like there's no tomorrow. Because you never know...
