I really don't want to take much time away from enjoying and relaxing, and I type very slowly, but I wanted to just share a few comments as I go.

When we landed in Savannah last night, after a day of weather delays, we were met with more lines, delays at the Savannah Airport, renting a car. Maybe they were short-handed, but the "new system because it's an unsecured lot" meant standing in long lines, 1 person giving keys for 3 rental car companies (so 3 companies were effected), people standing around waiting for cars because their reserved car wasn't available (DH threatened to go "Jerry Seinfeld" asking "Isn't that supposed to be part of the whole 'reserve' thing?") Then another line once you get whatever you didn't order to get out of the lot. Hopefully, things improve if you're headed to Savannah/DHHIR soon. Fortunately check-in went well, but surprisingly although we're here for 12 days, lots of people stay longer.
Today we ate at Charlie's L'etoile Verte. The atmosphere is the opposite of Sea Shack. I felt a little embarrassed when I used the wrong knife for my butter. There's a note on the menu not to use your cell phone (please). Lots of locals! I'm sure we were the only tourists there. Excellent service and food. It's the sort of place for a celebration-actually there were a couple groups of (what appeared to be local) ladies where they were celebrating birthdays. No kids, though, and just one baby. More when I've got time.

Following along. Sorry the airport was a pain. Hopefully the rest of your trip goes smoothly.

I found out that if you want to walk to Kroger, it will take 12 minutes, at least at DH's speed, I'd probably take at least an hour. Today we ate lunch at Tide Me Over, and if you're coming to the resort soon, I recommend the turkey gobbler sandwich-very big and filling. Yesterday we went to Black Marlin, a pretty regular place for us. It was very quiet and empty at lunch. I hope it gets busier later, for their sake. When we left I was far from empty, so much that we completely skipped supper. We always have a great meal there, I highly recommend their Bayside Chowder. And if you want a shower chair, they do have them. I forgot to mention golf. Hilton Head National was good, as usual-that's one place DH goes every year. And he's always pleased with the conditions-he used to be an assistant greenskeeper, which makes him more than a little picky about course conditions. He's golfing 4 times and different places this year, so I'll keep you posted on the others.
