Would this have been better as lve action T.V series or movie?

I wouldn't mind seeing redone as a live action movie series (like Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland). The movie was originally aimed at teenagers.

I'm a big old fan of Lloyd Alexander's Prydain books and would love to see a good, faithful adaptation of the whole series. I think live action would be a great idea.

Well, you all get your wish because it was announced a few months ago that Disney is in fact making The Chronicles of Prydain as a film series!

I think it's still a ways off but it is coming. I always liked the Black Cauldron animated feature, even though they did kind of weaken the ending. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

If they do it give us a PG13 version like Pirates...its the only way to do it right.

So...Andy Serkis would have to do the voice and motion capture of Gurgi since he already used it as an influence for Gollum right?

Definitely if they hadn't toned down the original ending. It's borderline as it is, but the original ending was a bit scarier and more graphic. I wish they would restore the film and release it, draw some attention to this underrated Disney film. Maybe we'll get a special edition when the new live action versions come out.
