Its Sunday and the alarm is set for 7am for our character breakfast. DP woke me up, I'd slept right through it. The boys were still fast asleep, we woke them at 7.30 and asked ds1 if he still wanted to go that day (I'd try and book one for the following day), but he said he still wanted to go. So the four of us sleep-walked over to Cafe Mickey. We were about the 3rd family there. A few minutes later Minnie came in. DS1 had his back to where the characters were coming in, so I didn't tell him. Minnie started off on the other side of the restaurant, then Pluto came in. he came over our side, he was great, lots of running and jumping around. ds1 had his photo taken, but ds2 was a little unsure of him. Next we saw Minnie and ds2 was getting a little more confident. The characters there were:
-Robin Hood
-Dale
-Genie
-Pluto again
-Chip
-Pinocchio
-Donald

By the time Pinocchio came round ds2 was a little more used to them, we then had our photo taken with Donald, and ds2 even gave him a kiss.

What a great start to the day, suddenly tiredness all forgotten!

We went on to the Disney store, bought a few bits, including a Donald for ds2. DP wouldn't let me have the bride & groom Minnie & Mickey or the Princess Minnies. It was already scorchingly hot and it was only 9.30am. We decided to take it easy today because of the weather. We'd promised ds1 that BTM would be the 1st thing we did, so we went to Frontierland, adn got our FP tickets. Can't remember what we did then (honestly thought I'd never forget it), but went back to BTM at our FP time only to find it had broken down. Cue a big strop from ds1. So we went off, had some lunch, tried to keep cool. We were buying drinks every half hour, and sticking our heads under the water fountains in an attempt to keep cool. We wished for a bit of rain to cool things down. (remember, when at Disney your wishes come true!) After lunch we went back to BTM, and thankfully it was open adn working. DS1 loved it, screamed and laughed the whole way through. We had lunch at Planet Hollywood because we had a 20% discount from last time. Unfortunately the service was abysmal, although the food great. The service was so bad that I didn't tip, and being a waitress, I always tip, and I tip well. No smile, food thrown at us etc.

We then went back to the hotel for showers and rests, stayed there for a couple of hours just chilling. This was the point when we really wished we'd taken our swimsuits with us. Back to the park, where we did a few rides that we'd already done. DP and I thought we could do some of the shows, I really wanted to see the Lion King, but ds1 was just interested in the rides. We went to Pizza Planet, which I have to say I was really disappointed in. I was expecting it to be a lot more like in the film.:sad1:

We bumped into the character express a couple more times, then when walking back down towards the entrance (using all the shade), we ran into some characters jogging off towards the castle. There was a big bloke that I can't think who he is. (If you've got the Souvenir Guide, he's on the back cover, top right picture), then the King from Robin Hood, he high 5'd me as he ran past, then followed by Donald who ruffled the boys hair.

After a few more rides and some tea we decided to see the Once Upon a Dream Parade for ds1. There was lots of space in Main Street USA, but in the blistering sun, and I really didn't want to be sat there for 45 mins. We walked up looking for some space. We found a spot where there were lots of adults sitting on the kerb (in 15 people, 12 were adults). I thought at least one of them would let the boys squeeze in. One woman moved, so I went over and asked the person I thought tshe was with if they could sit there. She was happy for them to sit there, but it was not her friend. I asked the right person and she refused quite bluntly. I tried to appeal to her by saying they're only little, they can't see over the adults, let the children sit on the kerb, the adults are bigger than them, can see over the top. She continued to refuse, then I was poked really hard in the side. There was an older couple stood behind the others there who started shouting at me saying 'we're bigger, but we don't want him in front of us'. I was just so angry I had to walk away before I snapped. By this time it was almost time for the parade to begin, so we walked back to Main Street USA and sat near the end of the parade. There were quite a few adults sat here on the kerb, but all were happy to move along/stand up out of the way so the boys could get a good view. They loved the parade, although it didn't stop at all this time. The Queen of Hearts shook ds1s hand and one of the Pneguins cam eup to ds2.

After the parade we went back to the hotel grabbing a McD's on the way. Got to the hotel and I could hear loud music. Was excited at the prospect of there being a character in the hotel, walked in to find ::MickeyMo . OMG. The man (mouse) himself in our hotel lobby.:jumping1: We stood and watched him dancing, then the children all went over to him. DS2 was a little wary, so Mickey backed off. As he was dancing some more, and meeting some more children, he got a little more used to him. Then he had to go. ds2 started waving and reaching out towards him. As Mickey was moving off and waving, he headed back in our direction, moved a few children out of the way and came over to us. He came close, so ds2 could touch him, then he kissed Mickeys nose, Mickey ruffled his hair, then left. That was the most amazing part of the holiday. That he came over specifically to see ds2 was just so wonderful.

We took our stuff up to the room, then came back down to the NYC bar for some drinks. While we were in there, music came on again, I looked out to see Mickey back in the lobby, so we went out and watched. The boys loved it, dancing with him, doing the Conga. Absolutely fantastic.:cloud9: After an hour we went up to the room, DP put the boys to bed, while I went back down adn got some cocktails to take upstairs (Mickey was back again, so I stopped for a few minutes to watch!). I was still planning on going back into the park for Wishes, but after sitting down, the tiredness really hit me and I was in bed by 10, and asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I'm going to try a link to my photos! Here goes...http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/6221028

What a packed day and I agree a highlight when the kids react the right way with the characters... pure magic :goodvibes

When going back to our car and cutting through the lobby of HNY we would often see characters :)
