dp (33) First time to DLP
ds1 (5) Loves anything Disney, fave TV channels are Playhouse Disney & Disney Cinemagic. Fave characters Mickey & gang
ds2 (1) Loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, fave characters Mickey & gang

We were up at 5am ready to catch the 06:24 from Fratton. Wanted to get to Waterloo quite early so we didn't have to fight our way across the concourse at rush hour! Nice hassle free journey, got to Waterloo at 08:00 and went straight over to the Eurostar terminal. Checked in nice & quickly, and settled down to some breakfast. Then we went and checked in & got the boys activity books & sat down near the band, tapping along to the music. The train had to wait at the tunnell as there was only one line open, so we got to DLP a little later than we should - about 14:15. We went up the lift to drop off the luggage and were greeted by Chip & Dale. ds1 had a cuddle with them both, but the 6ft tall chipmunks frightened ds2!

We then headed straight for the park. As we got to the end of Main Street USA, there was a sudden 'chug-chug' from the speakers, and we watched the character express go by. I was loving it, really choked up by how perfectly everything was working out. DS1 was so happy to see the characters go by too. Then we had a wander through Sleeping Beautys Castle and then onto Lancelots carousel which the boys loved. The queue for Dumbo was huge, so decided to wait until EMH the next morning. We went up to the Storybook boats, walked straight on really, then onto Casey Jnr, again walked straight on.

By then it was about 4pm, so we were getting hungry, so went on down to the village & had dinner at Planet Hollywood. The food was good, and the service too, the girl who served us was lovely. We've never been to a PH before so were looking all around at the memorabilia. We decided to wander on down to the hotel, saw the horse parade (don't know its name) on the way down, then stopped at Panoramagique. After we'd been on there we headed up to our room and chilled for a bit. ds2 was tired & dps leg was hurting so they stayed there while ds1 & I went back to the park. We got back at 19:10, so I found a spot at the kerbside outside City Hall and squeezed ds1 in there for the Once Upon a Dream Parade. The people next to us were brilliant, and all moved up a little to fit him in. We had a great view of the parade, Pluto came over and shook his hand, then the Toy Story float stopped right by us, so I was over the moon. One of the Army men shook ds1s hand too, and Woody & Jessie were dancing right in front of us. When all the streamers came out he was lucky enough to catch one of them! We watched the rest of the parade, then made our way up towards the castle.

He wanted to see the dragon so we went in, but it was too dark, so we didn't stay for long. Then we went up to Small World (Dumbo queue was still huge), After that we went on to Buzz Lightyear. The queue was about 40 mins long, but ds1 loved it. I was split between taking photos & shooting the Zs! We had a long wander round the shop and bought some light up spinny things, then took a slow wander back to the hotel. Got back about 21:30, I went down to the NYC bar to get some cold drinks for dp & I while DS1 told him all about our evening.

All in all a fantastic 1st day.

Will add some photos later, just uploading them to about 3 different sites ATM, so laptop on a go slow!
