"LittleMissMatched" Coming to Downtown Disney District

MousePlanet is reporting that fashion retailer LittleMissMatched will be opening a store in the Downtown Disney District, occupying a portion of the space recently vacated by Department 56.

LittleMissMatched sells a wide variety of originally designed clothing and items for house and home. Many Guests may recognise their distinct mismatched socks.

An opening date has not been announced, but should be sometime in the near future

Yes, unfortunately.

Department 56 vacated their Downtown Disney District location earlier this year, after their parent company filed for Bankruptcy Protection.

Why yes! and it's so much faster to put the laundry away too!

I cannot find a date and it is not on their website.

I did find them listed at Monster.com and two other sites as hiring. One post was April 20, 2009 for FT/PF Managerial and Sales positions.

LittleMissMatched will open a temporary location in the Downtown Disney District from today (18 May 2009). This will be in a portion of the space formerly occupied by Department 56.

They will move into their permanent location, right next door, sometime in the next several months.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing the information. I did not know that Dept.56 filed for bankruptcy. That is just so sad, for I really like that business and love to collect specific type of style and design when it comes to their Halloween merchandise. I hope that the store that is located on Pier 39, in San Francisco, Ca. does not close down.

It was open last weekend, we didn't go inside but it looked cute. DD9 would absolutely LOVE it in there so we tried to avoid it. lol

Libby Lu has the walls around it while they rebuild it to be reopened at Disney 365, DD12 thought that was cool.

I didn't know Little Miss-Matched had a shop. We are in Australia and all the Little Miss-Matched stuff that we have I have got from the $2 shop, so it is really cheap here.

I suppose that is why it is called miss matched. I can purchase socks that do match at Target for $1.00 a pair. They last just as long as far more expensive socks that I have purchased.

Exactly Gisele. I am just surprised that Little Miss-Matched is an entire shop - that is opening in Disney nonetheless
