So we have gone the past 2 years in Feb. and have been unable to see the F! show due to it not running when we were there. So....... this year I hear that POTC might be closed in Feb. so we decide to book a trip in May. Well, now we hear that POTC will not be closed and F! will be showing in Feb. but NOT when we are going to be there in May! :sad1: I really wanted my kids to see this show. I know there are no exact ways to book a trip in the off season and not have something be closed or cancelled but just wanted to vent to people who understand the frustration. Thanks for listening!

aww, that's sad. I know how you feel - I like going off season, but hate seeing things I love closed! Last year when I went F!, Haunted Mansion, and Aladdin were closed, among other things (those were just the main ones that made me sad). Not that we didn't have a good time...but it is slightly tainted, *sigh*
For me, the hardest part is the waiting...waiting to see the calendar updated to find out, and then one day, suddenly see something change, aaaagh! I'm frustrated just thinking about it!

Hope y'all have a GREAT time anyway! :goodvibes

I'm so, so sorry!!! Is it possible to tweak your reservations a bit?? If not, at least knowing ahead of time that certain things won't be running, you won't be surprised & let down.
We're going in the off-time too, & know that we won't get a Main Street Parade & that's a hard one for me.....cuz I luv the parades!! But since, I know, I'm looking at doing other things to make up for it (doing a tour, eating somewhere new, added a character meal, etc)
Cheer Up, you're still going to Disneyland.....and we don't want any sad faces!! :cloud9:

Do you have a May calendar yet? We are going May 3-9 and I'm anxious to know about nightime shows, parades, refurbishments...

The May Calender isn't up yet, where are you getting your info?? :confused3

I am so sorry that's how it's working out for your trip. I know it's always a big risk...you just never know what will go down when you're there either.

I know how you feel. Everytime I have gone - with years inbetween Splash Mountain has been closed. I so hope it will be working the first week of March!!! I wanna try it!!

That stinks! Hopefully your info. ends up being wrong or is changed. Our last trip Pirates was scheduled to be down (in Oct) but then they ended up taking it off the refurb list and it was up. As long as you are going over part of a weekend (Fri-Sun) F! or the fireworks should be running. Both are awesome! If you don't include a weekend night, in off-season they don't run week nights usually, however b/c of the main street parade being down, they are running F! weeknights in Feb. and March.

I wouldn't trust that F! will be down all of May, it seems that may still be tentative.

Mouseplanet reported that John McClintock, a PR dude for DLR, said the show would be down March to May. When during those months, we don't know.

I know it's not offical, I just pray it's not true! We want to see F! so bad!

That's okay; even the DL calenar is not 'official' seeing as they don't post it in a timely manner and they change it even after they post it! I found internet sources like Mouseplanet, Mice Chat and others to be far more accurate than anything I got off the DL planning calendar. :sad2: I totally know how you feel. I was very frustrated with Disney and their lack-of-planning-calendar when I was planning my January Holiday layover trip. In the end, everything worked out fine. BUT, they never did get that calendar updated correctly before I left for my trip. F! was not showing up on the calendar, even though it was supposed to be running. It still ended up running every night. Disney really needs to get their online trip planning calendar together. Not everyone that goes there is driving in. Some of us need to plan a trip months in advance. And then they need to get the info they put up on the calendar correct too. :rolleyes1
Whatever the case, I'm sure you'll have fun. But it's more fun knowing what you're getting yourself into and being able to plan your days so I can totally relate to how you feel.

I know your pain my little sister has never seen the fireworks and Im hoping theyll be showing in April when we go. I also hope that all he favorite rides are up she worked so hard to scrap together the money for this birthday trip it would be sad to see her be disappointed! :confused3
