also - we went into the little railroad station at the front of MK. My cousin wanted to show me something.. and this is what she showed me. A CM walked by and was like.. " Wow, that thing actually works?"

And it's a music box from 1927, and it actually works if you put a quarter in this hidden coin thing.

It was actually pretty cool.

i was there several weeks ago, and there is not currently nor has there been since 2001 any work preformed on the legendary years. the project is abandoned until further notice, according to wdw.

Well, somebody was working on it. When my family went for the Christmas season, we saw construction workers over there. It may have not been Disney workers, but something was going on over there. They were probably fixing the parking lot, because I remember reading somewhere that the parking lot was finished early 2009.

It was probably CMs, they use the parking lot for storage sometimes.

Something else interesting about Haunted Mansion, the ballroom scene's ghosts are not 'holograms'. It's hard to explain, but the scene is actually made of animatronics, and is reflected off glass. If you look really hard, you can see a layer of glass between the staircase, and the actual scene. It's really neat.

This site is wicked awesome for discovering little secrets and stories about HM.

Only because it's a reflection, the Imagineers who designed it forgot to reverse the mannequinns, so the women are leading the men!

Yesss, that was what I was trying to explain, lol. The whole scene is actually above the staircase (where we can't see) and reflected off the glass. I think that's such innovative thinking.

Well, hello eveyone, Ive been back for.. oh... 7 hours. And very disturbed at part of my hotel. In pop century, theres the main building with the 50's-90's.

As many of you will notice, that makes it pop half-century. The classic years.

However, on a stroll with my cousin, we happened across a bridge called the Generation Gap. Well, silly me, I assumed a bridge meant you were led somewhere.. more like.. led to shrubbery.

So, if you peer past the shrubs, you see..

THE CREEPIEST BUILDING OF ALL TIME!

After a little investigation, it seems that the building was supposed to be part of the pop century called the "legendary" years, but somethings wrong and they never finished it. They don't know if they ever will..

Sorry, I thought that was cool/creepy.

Oh also an update - Space mountain = closed.

I like those Pop century things very cool to bad it will never open. Am so sad my parents have 3 trips planned over 2009 and wont get to ride till 2010

the only shop window that faces the castle on main street has walt disney's name on it. the names on the other shop windows are the names of some of the original workers on the site before the park opened.

In California at the Disney Studios, a man named Card Walker had the office directly between Roy and Walt (as in, there were doors from either office into his, so you could walk through his from Roy's to Walt's and vice verse). Whenever the brothers Disney had an argument, Card was the peacemaker. He'd deliver messages from one brother to the other when they weren't speaking and so on.

Well, when it came time to make the windows for Mainstreet, U.S.A. at WDW, the imagineers got a little creative.

The window above the Main Street Confectioner's is for Roy.

Just over halfway down Main Street is a window labeled "Dr. Card Walker. Practitioner of Psychiatry and Justice of the Peace."

Then, at the end of Main Street, above the Ice Cream Parlor, is Walt's window.

So, even now, Card is between the Brothers Disney!

You can see Tower of Terror from Epcot, when viewed from between the Mexico Pavillion and the Showcase Plaza. Because of this, they designed Tower of Terror in such a way that it blends into the pavillion it's behind, which is the Morocco Pavillion.

You can see almost every tall building on property from the top of Summit Plummet. I've been able to see Everest, the Tree of Life, behind RnR, ToT, Mickey's Sorcerer's Hat, the Dolphin, the Epcot Ball, Cinderella's Castle tip, and the top of the Grand Floridian. I'm pretty sure I saw Space Mountain's tip too.

LOL. Well.. careful. My 400$ camera had to be scrambled and shoved into a bag violently so that it wouldnt get completely ruined.

I'll do anything for a photo though. If you turn around on the way up the hill, you can see the top of the castle. ^_^ I just didnt have my camera out.

Something I found out during my Keys to the Kingdom tour:

There's a little side street on the right side of Main Street (by the Crystal Arts place) and one of the upper floor windows is labeled as a dance studio. At random times during the day, you can hear the sounds of tap dance in that side street.

Holy crap! I know that's on purpose, but that is just CREEPY!!!
