Little resort availability in early December

The first week in December, only a handful of resorts are available. I find it hard to believe that SSR and others are fully booked. What am I missing?

The first week in December, only a handful of resorts are available. I find it hard to believe that SSR and others are fully booked. What am I missing?

Early December is a popular time for DVC members normally.. SSR is a DVC resort and there are a lot of excess points in the DCV system right now. So members have been booking what they can before their points expire. That leaves very little for cash reservations.

I should have been more specific. Only CSR, AKL, AKV, POR, and all star music have availability. I have been to all star movies the following week which appears to be slightly busier, and it was dead. Hopefully more rooms will be released soon.

You’ll find dozens of threads by people completely booked out of their favorite resorts later this yearbecause they waited too late to book. And lots of travel reports the the resorts that have reopened are fully booked and not holding rooms back.

Many resorts have been near sold out for Aug-Dec because of the compilation of the 50th, trips rilled iver from last year, and COVID “revenge travel”. You should expect the resorts and parks to be significantly more crowded this December, maybe even more crowded than this Summer. “Normal” doesn’t apply. Everyone and their brother is splurging and heading to WDW to celebrate getting out if the house.
