Has anyone bought the little ponies in DTD lately? We went last year and bought 3 boxes with different ponies and stuff in them. The girls love them. They each have their own pony, outfit, and accessories. Was wondering if there was anything new in the last year....just curious. Anyone been to know if there is anything different? :thumbsup2 Thank you!

My dd's picked out some MLP Disney stuff from DTD - aprox. 4 months ago....Mickey/Minnie hats, Mickey ice cream bar, pink balloon shaped like Mickey, Princess hats (Aurora, Belle, Cinderella), Princess rain hat/rain coat, Princess brushes, red sunglasses shaped like Mickey, red headband w/Mickey shaped antenne, Tinkerbelle skirt/wings, Minnie skirt, big purple Tea cup for ponies to "ride" in, Main street popcorn stand....Were some of the things that they picked out. HTH!

I bought a box and she got them on Sunday. She was quiet for hours she loved them. I am going back in late Sept. and can only check then if anything is new from Feb.

what is this little pony thing? do you bring your own little pony with you and then dress them up?? Fill me in please! I bet DD would love this.

At one of the stores in DTD there is a My Little Pony "station" with all sorts of Disney related items to purchase. There are ponies there as well. (Since my dd's already have just about every pony there is :) they just went ahead & picked out the special Disney stuff for their ponies - see above post for some of the "stuff" you can get!) What you do is you take one of the boxes that the store provides and you fill it with as much as you can fit in there. As long as you can close the top of the box when you are done, then you are ok. I think the cost is around $20 or so (can't remember exactly now - sorry). BTW - I just did a search to see how much they cost....didn't find that out but did find this (it expains a little better):

Build My Little Pony at Downtown Disney, WDW

Children Can Build Their Own 'My Little Pony' at Downtown Disney
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- My Little Pony is back in a big way and capturing the imaginations of a new generation. One of the most popular toys of the 1980s, the newest edition of the beloved Hasbro toy is now featured at Walt Disney World Resort at the Once Upon a Toy store at Downtown Disney.

The 16,000-foot retail playground is home to a new build-your-own My Little Pony area, where guests of all ages can customize and accessorize ponies with crowns, brushes, jewelry and exclusive Disney accessories. The giant kiosk also includes interactive, video touch-screens designed just for little hands. Guests purchase as many accessories as they can stuff in one sizable box.

In addition to My Little Pony, Once Upon a Toy offers new Disney and Hasbro toy brands including a build-your-own Mr. Potato Head area, special Disney theme park editions of traditional Hasbro games including Monopoly and Clue, and a galaxy of "Star Wars" action figures, games and collectibles from George Lucas' popular sci-fi saga.

I used to LOVE to play with My Little Ponies! I think it's Great (smart on the toy companies part too :)) for them to re-release these 80's toys for Our kids (or is it us?) to enjoy! :)

Anyway, Hope I answered your ? for ya!

thanks for the explanation! sounds like fun, I made myself a note to make sure DD brings her pony with her! I'm assuming this is for the smaller ponies?

If you have ponies you like, don't waste time filling the box with ponies. It just takes up space. The CM there showed us how to take the table and such apart to make more space in the box. He was awesome. It closed only till we got to the register. After he rang it up it poppped open. He said good thing you already bought it, hey? I think he had just as much invested in it. We didn't really have a lot of stuff, just big stuff....bed, mirror dresser, popcorn machine......HE was great! Find a CM with a great sense of humor and you will probably get help. ENJOY!!!! :cloud9:
Thanks for the posts. Looks like everything is still the same. :goodvibes

No problem! Yes it's for the smaller ponies.

Can you buy a pony seperately (not included in the box)? I want to do this with my daughter when we go for her birthday but I thought it would be fun for her to pick out a new pony there. Or should I just pick up a new pony at WalMart? Thanks!

I also heard there was a store in Toontown with the MLP station- anybody know? We should probably go to DtD anyway- never been there. We will plan on bringing a couple ponies- we certainly don't need to buy more!

Yes, I'm sure you can buy a pony out of the box (I know that you can buy stuff separately with the Mr. Potato heads & this is the same concept - just w/MLP's instead)....I'm not too sure how much they are though. Also, they sell quite a few pony play sets at DTD (like the ones Walmart sells).

**What I would do: Is buy a MLP set from Walmart (Cheaper, I'm sure!!- Plus I've seen cute Pony "Princess" sets there - that would be cute & would "go with" the princess items that they have at DTD!) As far as I can remember there is nothing special about the actual ponies at DTD(I really do think that they Are the Same ponies that you can buy at Any store - Someone correct me if I'm wrong!) It's just the neat Disney accessories & such that are "one of a kind" & That is all we ever end up getting....

When we go there we don't bring our ponies from home or anything they have a lot of ponies right there at the DTD station....our dd's use those to "dress up"....When it comes time to picking out some stuff for our box....the ponies stay & the clothing, furniture, & accessories are what we purchase.

Hope that helped!

I'm sure your dd will have a Blast doing this on her B-day! My 4 yo could spend All Day in there if I let her!

I dunno if there is another MLP station in Toontown (?)

Thanks Kristi: that's what I'll do. Pinkie Pie is her favorite and she doesn't have it yet so I was going to buy it for her birthday anyway. I just hope I can keep it a surprise until we get there! :goodvibes

Your Welcome!

Pinkie Pie is one of my dd's favorites too!....One of the many! :) It's funny cause she can recall the names of each & every one of her ponies & all of the ponies from her MLP memory matching game. I don't know how she does it....it's amazing!

I think that going to the DTD MLP station is such a Great idea for a little girls birthday! I'm sure it will be Super Fun for your dd! I wish I had thought of doing that for my MLP fan! :)

Here's to hoping that you can keep it a surprise til' then ;) Have Fun!

If you want to see some of the MLP accessories that are available they have them for sale online at laughingplacestore.com. I showed this to my DD who is 4 and she can't wait to go on our next trip and get a bunch of these items for her collection of MLPs.

We do the Mr. Potato Heads. They've got the Disney parts for him in DTD, too...

(FYI, in case one of you has a boy with an aversion to MLP!) :rotfl:

Wow! Thanks for the info! I had no idea there was such a place! My girls are MLP fanatics as well! We will definitely visit this place. What is the name of the store? And is the one in Toontown the same size as in DTD?

Does anyone know if this area still exists? We are going in Sept and my youngest would go nutz over this.

I sure hope it isn't still there because my DH will kill us if we have to do MLP AND Mr. Potato Head!!! :-)

Seriously, my DD would ADORE this - she loves all her Disney Mr. Potato head stuff and I think she would like this even more!!!

There were also a few pony items available in MK at Cornelius Coot's County Store in Toontown Fair. They were set up at the same stations as the Potato Head parts.
:laundy:

I did this for DD last September. She wasn't into MLP at the time, but now she's completely nuts for them. The accessories are really cool. It's an awesome souvenir. The ponies they sell are the same, just white ponies with colorful manes. I don't think they have any other options in the stuff-a-box area.
