I have no idea, you can google it & get the whole court transcipt (at least you could a few years ago when I was curious & went to read it!) From what I can remember, the employer wasn't ensuring that they put Matt in a handicap accessible hotel room when traveling for business....and he sued & won. I remember a few seasons back when Matt was trying to start his own company to sell items for handicapped people (or maybe it was for dwarves) to use in hotel rooms, he mentioned having to sue his former employer for pain & suffering because he wasn't comfortable when travelling for business. Then he was laid off or let go & he sued for that using discrimination as well. I think he lost that lawsuit.
I don't know the details, DH worked in a different office than Matt but they traveled together a few times & had events together. This was probably about 10 years ago.
Let me go google & see what I can dig up. I better get my facts straight here - or I'm sure I'll hear about it! If anyone else has links for the lawsuit please post.
Handicap rooms, don't cost extra--
My husband handles all of his business bookings....he gets what he wants b/c he does it himself. At a former company--they had a corporate TA that handled all bookings--but as long as stuff was within per diem--he got the hotels and room selections that he wanted b/c he still called the TA to arrange all of his travel.
What a dumb reason to sue.
