Little Mermaid -Whats Going On?

We have all read the speculative articles within various sources citing the end to the Little Mermaid show in Disney Studios (MGM) in 2007 and now the Little Mermaid DVD was released with a large section dedicated to the Little Mermaid ride thoroughly created back in the 1990's.

Is there a "hidden" agenda in the recent DVD release to create a public wave of opinion to ease the possible demise of the Little Mermaid Show if Disney was to actually create a Little Mermaid Ride to counter the Broadway production? What do you think?
