Little Mermaid line 6/3....

It's my understanding that (on any ride) if you are in line before park closing you will get to ride the ride. Do you think this also goes for a 3 hour line ride at closing time. Can't imagine how late people would be in the park. Just a thought though...

I'll guarantee you that about 90% of those people were all locals with SoCal or SoCal Select APs.

Unfortunately, for you, September is when the block outs end for that level of AP. After a summer of being blocked out of the park and just one day of those attractions being open before they were blocked out, September is going to be crazy long lines for those attractions. If I were you, I would make sure that a Saturday is in your schedule (all but one AP level is blocked on Saturdays).

September is empty. Late august, however, is a mess.

The lines for Little Mermaid today, as others have mentioned, ranged from short to non-existent. It was a walk-on by late evening.

I've done a good job of training my kids for them to see the benefit of NOT waiting that long to see a particular ride. In other words, how many other rides we can go on in that timeframe. And since we only get to DL once a year for one or two days, they understand that fully, no matter how badly we want to see the ride.

But a 6 minute wait? Humm...

Yeah it was pretty insane! We just got back last night. Thanks to what I read on this board I had a great strategy for 5/3... AND, by 10:10 am I had finished the LIttle Mermaid ride (it opened at 10). then walked over to TSMM for only a 20 minute wait! Thanks for all the tips on this board ! I entered Calif Adventure thru the GCH entrance.. They gave out the WOC fastpasses so that saved me the walk to grizzly run. So as soon as I entered the park i went straight to Little Mermaid (they let us in at 9:30). For 6/4 I went straight to Star Tours for MM at 7 am.. Walked on!! THANKS TO EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD FOR TIPS!

I am so relieved to hear about the lines yesterday evening! I guess it was just the opening day excitement that made the initial line sooo long! & fast loading helps too!

This morning when we walked through CA on our way to the hotel (maybe 10:20?) the line was past the entrance for the hotel. I would stay far far away from the ride until the evening. We went on yesterday using our hotel fast passes and it was very quick. But we went at 1 and the line was about 50 minutes at that point for standby.

And I think the word is getting out that it's not a e-ticket attraction, but more like a souped up Fantasyland dark ride. For a 20 or 30 minute wait, we enjoyed it quite a bit!

That's sad to hear....after all the hype I really expected to hear that it was a spectacular ride!

Someone compared the wait to NEMO and I have to say I hope it's a much better ride than NEMO....never have I simply dismissed a Disney ride and said I won't waste my time on that ever again until we rode NEMO. Thankfully there was no line, we simply waited for the sub to finish unloading the ride before. It was boring, uncomfortable and simply didn't live up to Disney's standards, so I'll not even waste the time with no line again.

Please tell me that Mermaid is better!

...actually..the block outs end August 22..the day we are doing the parks post EXPO :scared1:..really gonna need that special Fastpass for staying onsite I think.
I haven't been hearing that great of reviews on LM..it's a nice dark ride, sure, but it's still a dark ride and not on the par of HM if reviews are to be believed.

I hopped on MouseWaits yesterday around 6 p.m. CA time and it showed a line of about 45 minutes for LM. Was that accurate? Seems the lines are dying just a little.

I was hoping the line would go down by afternoon/evening. I'm going to be watching that with interest too. Right now my plan is to head over there later in the day since there or no FP machines. So I'll be watching line apps and the boards to see if that works.
