We are heading there this Thursday with family and friends~! We all have PAP's to DL, and do not visit as often as we should (for living so close). DD is home on Spring holiday, so we are all looking forward to enjoying the time together.

DL is magically wonderful, and the MK is our #1 favorite over any park in the world. It's WALT'S original, and you can FEEL his presence just walking through the gates. You will see what I mean when you visit, and walk in/up main Street. It's like night/day from WDW (IMHO). It seems much more quaint, intimate too. Nicer weather, landscaping and many more meet-greet ops as you mentioned. So many things to love. Also, the PINS are incredible. :cloud9: Hope you have a great time! :wizard: I know we will!

(We are taking along two of DD's mates from England--they have never been to ANY Disney park, and are SO excited!). :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Hmmmm, I'll be there this week also, maybe we'll run into each other and can hang out :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :lmao:

Just a point of clarification...

The park in California is called Disneyland. That was Walt's original park. There is no Magic Kingdom (MK) at Disneyland. Walt built the Magic Kingdom at WDW. The Magic Kingdom in Florida and Disneyland in California are similar parks in many ways, except they do have different names.

I thought the MK was only in WDW.
It is. I have been to DL and it is called the DL Resort (like WDW Resort) but Walt's original is still called Disneyland. And I am not a world traveler (not posting from the Italian Alps) or live in Southern Cal. I would think a person'ss PAP (I've had them too and I am on the East Coast) should be revoked for not knowing this very important Disney parks history fact.

Hey FC, dont you get hot with your sweatshirts on? I was at MGM on Sunday and got sunburned for the first time since last summer it was so warm!!

I am going to close this thread if it continues to be rude and sarcastic, next reported post and the thread is over! Thanks for following the guidelines in future posts.

Hi everyone!

I just deleted a lot of posts on this thread. Please remember that personal attacks are NOT allowed on the DIS, per posting guidelines. Please keep this in mind when posting. If you do not like a certain poster, please ignore his/her posts. Reading them will only make the situation worse.

I can't believe people actually report posts, it's just a discussion board, people need to get a thicker skin. I won't say anymore cause someone might report me :rolleyes1

You ARE the one they reported, but i think you already know that! And as you stated, don't say any more please.

I took my photo framed photo of me kissing little Minnie to work :goodvibes I showed the photo to some people at work and they thought it was awesome :goodvibes I can enjoy the magic of Disney when I am at work :wizard: I am going to bring this photo with me to work again and show it to more people at work :cloud9: This is fun :goodvibes :cloud9:

hi FC.......those are fantastic photos........I only have been kissed by pluto when the tongue went up the whole side of my face and I could just imagine the noise it made..like slurrrrrrrpp....thanks for taking the time to post these photos...

Take You Pumba

Also, did they take a photo of pluto kissing you ? I would love to see it :)

It's Disneyland....REALLY? Can't we all just get along? Maybe it's Spanglish for DL! You would be surprised at the use of creative language spoken by the masses of this state. My sincere apologies for any offense to anyone on this thread. Didn't intend to upset or confound anyone. :thumbsup2

Wow...technical to a fault. To those in question...I DID indeed CORRECTLY refer to it as DL (Acronym for DISNEYLAND--please reread my post), and then referred to OUR favorite park as being the MK. I believe most readers understood the inference without further explanation. I've been posting a long time here on the good old DIS (is this the technical name for this forum?), and these are a sharp group of folks. ;) I wish I were PERFECT, but alas I am not. It must be nice to be faultless, and free to call others on their imperfections or personal preferences for a simple difference in a name. A trip to the MK is the perfect antidote for such a problem! :rotfl2: JK!!

Permit me to kindly expound on the origin. I personally refer to the DISNEYLAND RESORT-as the MK, due to the fact most all our family members & friends do too! Perhaps we have all spent a bit too much time in WDW...who knows/cares? It's still the same, just as a rose...is a rose...is a rose (and so on). Whatever.:confused3 It's the same park, even if it's called MAGICLAND...:lmao: Truly, I/we could care less what it's called, as long as we visit and enjoy the place!! ;) :wizard: But, when we are all eagerly standing in the midst of the courtyard between two parks, and we are all deciding which park to enter first...the kids ALWAYS yell without fail---THE MAGIC KINGDOM PARK! (Makes perfect sense to us adults too).

I know I'll be there this Thursday...and could give a hoot what the name of the park is called to the rest of the world. To us...it will always be the MK! (Universal DISNEY speak). Disneyland is what we refer to the ENTIRE park. We are so entitled...as, to each--his/her own such freedoms.
No arrests are imminent...lol.

No Cali (or DIS for that matter) law broken here either. That's funny! Revoke our passes? Seriously?!? I know you are only kidding, but thanks for the kind and funny thought. Didn't know such oversights were considered criminal transgressions to the DISNEY park associates/team. I'm sure they would have a laugh over that one as well! BTW, having PAP's here in California is almost a "right of passage" (we have them to all the area parks, always have--and always will). For those who can not afford the PAP, they offer SO.CAl Residents a great deal (around $120 annually w/offers). They offer them with a day's pass at most of the other parks, with FOTLA costing just a little more. For DL, it's an amazing deal compared with what the same costs in WDW, (as there are only two parks).

I only wish they offered a "universal" pass, which could be used in BOTH parks! I've asked at guest services for years, but to no avail. Maybe someday! :cloud9: I'm sure at some point, this too shall pass. :yay:

You go Tim!! Fun is universal, and everyone shares (well...most everyone) a LOVE for LIFE and HAPPINESS! I know you make many others happy just by being yourself. If only more people would follow suit, the world would be a much better place. DISNEY MAGIC is contagious, and you are a devoted sponsor (they should be PAYING you $$$ for all your efforts!). But, this is the clear sign of a true passion--the fact you would do it for FREE! You certainly make ME want to visit each time I read one of your posts!! :cheer2:

Just as the old song goes, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine" (and on and on). We all learned this back in the day! Member? You member! Old School? It's good for the heart and soul. Everyone has a light of their own, and should shine it for the whole world to see. Again, each would be much happier if they followed suit.

Thanks for sharing your own LIGHT with us Tim. God gifts everyone with a special passion at birth. Yours is clearly evident, and brings much joy to all who share it. I too, LOVE all things Disney. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into your posts, photos and thoughts. Thank you for taking the time to visit the DIS and post. :cloud9: :wizard: Keep up the great work!! Sharing and spreading joy through your love of DISNEY is your own special gift from God. Blessings to you always.

:goodvibes

QUOTE=VAgal76;17796689] . I hope you find peace somewhere, someday. I continue to pray for you, and wish you well. I only ask you to kindly adhere to the rules and leave me alone.

Thank you.

Where did this quote come from? I did not see VAgal76 post this. Was it in a PM?:confused3 If so why did you not reply to her there?:confused3

Hi everyone,

Since this thread has moved to personal attacks, sarcasm and outright rudeness, I am closing this thread. Please be reminded of the DIS posting guidelines:

The forums are a part of Pete Werner's Unofficial Online Guide to Disney World (http://www.wdwinfo.com), also known as "The DIS". The site is owned and operated by Werner Technologies, Inc., and has no affiliations with the Walt Disney Company or any of its subsidiaries.

The DIS is designed is to give Disney fans a place to share their experiences with each other. We welcome visitors of all ages and it is our number one goal to keep the DIS friendly, fun and informative. With this in mind, we have created guidelines that will keep the DIS a site that anyone can enjoy whether they're a child or "child at heart."

The following guidelines/rules are in effect for our message boards:

1. FOR SALE For sale ads are strictly prohibited on any of the DISboards. Anyone posting such ads will have their post deleted. This same policy applies to links to your ebay/auction listings . "For sale" posts includes requests for donations. If you are participating in or wish to promote a charitable event, please email the webmaster at webmaster@wdwinfo.com for permission first. (You will be asked to provide proof that the organization is legitimate.) Until your request is approved, we ask that you do not post about it on the boards.

2. NO PROFANITY: Simply put, don't use swear words and don't post or link to suggestive or inappropriate photos. The boards are equipped with censoring software. If you try to use a profanity, it will be filtered and appear as all asterisks. Please don't get creative in an attempt to bypass the filters. This is considered the same as using the word itself and will result in an infraction. If you post or link to pornography, you'll be banned from our site.

3. NO FIGHTING/SARCASM: While we'd like to think that a Disney fan site is always lighthearted, there are times when there are disagreements. Let's face it, there are certain topics that can transform any of us into a raging "Donald Duck." When you sense this is happening, we ask that you step away from the discussion before it escalates into a fight. Just like Mom always said about fighting, we don't care who started the argument and we don't want it on the DIS. (Okay, she didn't say the part about the DIS, but you know what we mean.) No attacking others and no sarcasm please. Either will result in an infraction.

4. NO PERSONAL MESSAGES: The types of posts that we like to see on the DIS are those that everyone can participate in and benefit from. When a post is intended for an individual, it creates a problem and can be very awkward for both the person you're publicly contacting as well as others. Did you know that you can easily get in touch with almost anyone via the DIS Private Message system? Simply click on the name of the person and you should see a link for sending them a private message and/or email. If you come across a situation where the person has blocked these options, sorry you still can't use the boards to get in touch.

5. ADVERTISING: The advertisers/sponsors who you see on the DIS are carefully chosen. While we welcome discussion of them as well as other businesses that you have information or questions about, if its determined that you are using the DIS to promote a commercial venture, you will lose your posting privileges. In addition, links to the company's website will be blocked. Also note that we do not want the boards to be used for solicitations or for requesting referrals.

6. STAYING ON TOPIC: Each of the DIS boards focuses on a specific topic. Please look the choices over before posting on the wrong board. For instance, you don't want to ask about park hours on the Restaurants Board or tell everyone about your stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort on the Disney Cruise Line Board. It makes it easier for everyone to find what they're looking for when the boards stay on topic.

7. MODERATORS: The DIS has a wonderful group of Moderators who have volunteered to assist our visitors and monitor the boards. Part of their responsibilities is ensuring that our guidelines are followed which may require that a thread is edited, deleted, closed or moved. If these decisions impact you, we ask that you respect them. Should you have any questions, please direct them to admin@wdwinfo.com. Any discussion about a Moderating decision that takes place on the boards could result in an infraction.

8. LINKS TO OTHER SITES: You are welcome to link to your website on our boards provided that a) you are not promoting a commercial service or for-profit venture, b) you don't post primarily to promote your site and c) that you place a prominent link back to the DIS on your website. Before posting a link to another site, we ask that you please first check to see if the same information is available on www.wdwinfo.com. We take great pride in our website. While we make the boards available for your enjoyment, our focus is Disney travel planning.

9. DISCOUNT CODES: As mentioned above, the DIS is all about planning a Disney vacation. On occasion, Disney does release discounts which usually can be obtained via a code. This information will be available in our Discounts section. However, Disney also sends mailings to specific individuals/target groups which contain a discount that can only be obtained with a PIN (personal identification number.) If you receive one of these offers, please do not share your PIN/Code on the DIS for others to use. We respect the fact that these offers are not for the general public and will remove any posts that include this information. Understand that this action is for your protection. For example, say you use Mrs. Smith's code. When you check in and are asked to produce proof that you are Mrs. Smith and cannot do so, you will be charged the full rate.

10. SIGNATURES: Your graphics may not exceed 550 pixels in width in total and or 200 pixels in height individually.
There is a limit of 3 graphics not including smilies.
Clipart may not exceed a cumulative size of 50,000 bytes (50k)
You may have up to 12 lines of text maximum in your signature inclusive of any code required to post your selected graphics
Links that lead to other sites must follow the rules stated in Guideline no. 8
The DIS reserves the right to remove any clipart, even if it meets these standards, that causes technical problems with the boards, or that we deem inappropriate.
If you have any questions or need help please visit our Tech Support Board
Please note that the Official WISH clipart is exempt from these rules as are the Official Sponsor graphics.

11. INFRACTIONS: The DIS guidelines are an important part in keeping the site family friendly. While the majority of our visitors abide by our rules, there are times when problems develop. In order to handle these issues consistently and fairly, we have developed an infraction system.

As you can see, the infractions have different point values. The majority of offenses will result in a warning via private message accompanied by infraction points which will expire according to schedule. Providing that you do not accumlate more points during that time, no further action should be needed. The more serious violations will result in additional penalties or an immediate banning.

If you do incur an infraction, you will be notified. If you wish to question or appeal this decision, please keep in mind that your correspondence is subject to the same regulations. At anytime you may contact the board administration at admin@wdwinfo.com.

There may be times where a situation develops that is not covered in our infraction system. For those cases we reserve the right to take whatever action is needed in order to ensure that our guidelines are followed.
