Does anyone have experience with composite baseball bats for little league. I'm still having sticker shock over spending $150 to $300 for a BAT.

If so, when your kid switched from aluminum to composite did it make a difference?

What type of composite bat did you buy?

Thanks in advance

My son is a Sophmore and just finished his JV season. He has always swung an aluminum bat.

I have a few friends that bought their kids composites, and then the kid couldn't use them half the time because it was colder than the recommended temp. To me not worth it. If the kid can hit, it doesn't matter whats in his hands, if he can't hit, having an expensive bat isn't going to fix the flaws in his swing.

Depends on how good the kid is. If he can swing the bat, these bats have better pop and the ball go faster off the bat then cheaper types. I use composite in softball and there are definitley differences in the expensive bats to the cheap ones.

That can also work against you, instead of hitting a flare over the infielders heads, now you have hit a can of corn fly ball.

The pro's use wood bats, learning how to hit is way more important than what's in your hands. In fact our HS requires the kids to use wood bats during the fall season.

They use wood bats because they would kill someone if they used aluminum/metal bats. Your swing doesnt change, it increases your chances of hitting the ball harder. That's why the college kids use aluminum bats because they don't have the power like the pros do yet.
