Little Fockers

Saw it tonight and I thought it was a cute and entertaining movie. Although, I think the first one was the best. Maybe you should have given it more than 5 minutes.

We had two 11 year-olds with us. They have seen their fair share of PG-13 movies, including the first Focker movie.

The first five minutes were filled with un-funny erectile dysfunction and colonoscopy jokes. Including a play-by-play visual of the colonoscopy filled with sexual innuendo.

Before you call me a prude, just know I wouldn't give a hoot about any of this if it was rated R. I wouldn't have taken the kids. But, PG-13, please. And, honestly I find ED jokes to be cheap and stupid. I was embarrassed for the actors.

And, most of the critics on rotten tomatoes seem to agree. It scored an 11% among them. Here's my favorite quote "This deeply dislikable movie gives vulgarity a bad name."

Here's a link to the others, since I'm no reviewer, just a mom.

Don't think I would take 11 year olds to a movie that was rated PG 13.

Looks like we won't again anytime soon. Who would consider that stuff suitable for a 13 year old, seriously?

I think the movie was just geared toward an age group about 20 years older than me. We did notice when we sat down that the crowd was full of baby boomers. My MIL thought the movie was hilarious, she's a boomer herself.

OK I get it, jokes in the first movie included classics such as "You can milk anything with nipples" and that was ok with you and 11 year olds...

I dont understand the difference between tasteless jokes. Either you appreciate that kind of humour or you don't. Yo already knew what to expect. I hope they didnt give you a refund....

You did see the first two movies, right? There are plenty of crude jokes in them too.

The scene where they are doing the colonoscopy prep is in the setting of the hospital and Nurse Focker was called to help another nurse. The drug rep (ED) happened to be a former nurse and they were both working with the patient and easing the tension of the procedure.

I can see why it wouldn't be appropriate for an 11 year old but that is why they have the ratings.

And....yes, I am baby boomer. There were a lot of us in there. By the way, I went with my 26 year old son who is visiting for the holidays and he liked the movie also. It may not be worth $13 but we paid $6 so it wasn't bad.

Did you read the reviews BEFORE you went to the movie? :confused3 I assume you did because you posted it here. If you did, why did you still go? If you didn't read the reviews in advance, why not? Haven't you seen any PG-13 movies lately? They are meant for 13 and older because the content is more over the top than PG movies. I would think you would know that in advance and read up on the movie before taking those younger than the recommended age.

Hope away, we got bumped up to Tron 3-d. Sorry to disappoint you. :cool1:

Errr, what? Why would I have gone after reading the reviews. I came home and checked to see that I wasn't the only person who felt disgusted by the movie.

BTW, this movie was heavily promoted during previews for kid movies and during kid's television programming. Milking a cat is stupid, yes. But jokes about old men's ED problems do not belong in a PG-13 movie.

Not sure why my assessment of this film is angering so many. The claws are out.

I am not sure that claws are out but I do find it a little odd about complaining about a movie that has a rating of of PG 13 and you took two 11 year olds and you thought it wasn't age appropriate.

11 year olds are not 13 and they are not the intended audience.

But, I am glad that you got to enjoy another movie that you were able to enjoy.

I really think you have forgotten the dirty jokes in the first two movies.

I didn't see the 2nd one. But, I have to say I thought the first one was funny. I have all boys in my house and I'm not above fart-level humor.

And, yes, my kid saw Meet the Parents at age 11. Gasp. Light the torches.

Thanks, we did enjoy Tron. It was the second time for some of us.

I guess my point was I don't think is was appropriate for 13-year-olds as it's rating of PG-13 suggests. Potty humor is one thing. This was very vulgar, R-rated territory in my opinion.
