Anyone eaten here? What are your thoughts? Our next big disney trip is next summer, but we will be in FLorida for 4 days in august his year and thought my 3 year old (almost 4 by august) would love to go eat with them.
Only down side is having to buy park tickets for family of five to go eat. :sad2:

I'm interested in the replies to this too. I think my kids would really like it but I haven't seen any reviews.

We had lunch there the first week of April 2007. We had a great time. Our server was kind, we thought the food was very good. We all made a couple trips to the buffet, me, DH, DS6 and DS4. None of us are picky, but I thought they had something for everyone. They even had a mini-buffet for the kids with meatballs, chicken nuggets, corn, etc. in addition to a large variety for the adults. Good dessert selection

Our ADR was 11:45. They had not cleared one of the buffet lines for the breakfast so we were able to enjoy items from the lunch and breakfast buffets.

Character interaction was excellent. They also have a sing and dance-a-long portion. No complaints.

We did the dinner last year and it was ok. It is very LOUD and very interactive. DD loves all the characters there, except didn't want anything to do with Jo Jo. I have no idea why. I thought the characters were great and spent time getting good pics with dd. We had a great waiter. The restaurant was not very busy and we saw many walk ups get in with no problem. We're not going back this year because dd has pretty much moved on to different characters. The food was ok - CP and CM were better IMO as far as food.

my son would be so interested in this. where is it? and do they do breakfast, lunch and dinner?

thanks for the info!

We just got back from our trip and we did this charcter meal for breakfast at MGM, Hollywood and Vine. DS4 Loved all the characters, he was star struck over Leo, his favorite. Food was decent, typical buffet breakfast stuff. DS4 would not get up and dance or parade around the restaurant. They do the Hot Dog Dance from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

We origianlly had an 8;10 ADR and each morning we were struggling to get out the door for either EMH or rope drop (never made it there always 10 min late:confused3 ) so the day before I called to try and get it switched to lunch, this seem to work well for us, nice break midday. Anyway none were availvable so I changed it to 8:40, I thought I bought ourselves a 1/2 hour, well we got there by 8:20 and we were seated immediately!

We went to the breakfast last summer. It was really quiet, but that was actually really nice. My three-year-old brother was at first kinda shy of getting up and dancing with Goliath and June, but I did it with him and it was so much fun! The food was okay, the character interaction was great (prob. b/c it was so quiet!). We're doing it again this summer!

We find this breakfast to be one of the best around. Very noisy and interactive, as noted above, and also the characters REALLY spend time with you (in contrast with all offerings at the MK or Norway). Time well spent.

We had breakfast in October. My DD never really gets up to go dance, couldn't get her OFF the floor. They had the dancing twice while we were there. We saw Leo, June, Jojo and Goliath, came around 2 times. It's the one thing she asked to do this year, so we're going for lunch. A very fun time!

This is at the Hollywood & Vine restaurant at MGM-Disney Studios. They do breakfast and lunch character meals but not dinner. We're taking DD there next Thurs. for the breakfast. Can't wait, and will let you all know how it was!:yay:

thanks everyone for the information. my son is going to just love this!!!
emmismom05, please let me know how it is!!!!

thanks very much

We went this past April for Breakfast. Food was ok, typical breakfast buffet food. It was loud and they did the dancing thing but there's not a lot of room for it. Goliath doesn't sign autographs books since he has such big paws. I thought that the CM's who took them around to the tables to make sure all of the characters hit all the tables was a little disorganized. We had to flag the CM down to get the pictures taken.

We went here before the Doodlebops concert last year. DS (then 1-2 weeks shy of 3) LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. The foos was typical breakfast food, but was good and fresh (We did have the first seating of the morning so this might have been a factor). The characer interaction is fabulous and there are a couple of cast memebers that come out and lead the crowd in sing alongs (Hot Dog, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse are the 2 songs I can remember off the top of my head). I highly recommend the character breakfast:thumbsup2

We just ate there 2 days ago!!!! I must say that the character interaction was so fabulous! The characters took extra time w/all of the kids even though it was crowded and they were really sweet and it is a lot of fun for younger kids. There were 7 of us in our party and we did the lunch and as far as the food goes, it was by far the worst meal we had at WDW. My kids had a blast and the character interaction and kid's entertainment was an A+ so I do not regret going there. The food was bad and we did many character meals and buffets on our trip, so my worst food vote goes to this meal. I think it is worth going for the character interaction though and my kids thought it was priceless.

By far the best character meal we have been to. We loved the interaction. It was greta how they actually play with your kids. The food was good too. Totally worth the park tickets and the cost.

glad to hear this one sounds to be a good one.. I made ADR's for next Saturday for me, DH and DD9 since we'll be there next weekend.. She loves Jojo so I know she'll get a kick out of this..

This is a bonus though cause I wasnt aware that there were other characters besides Jojo and Goliath..

We did this one last Sept. My daughter loved it ... food was not very good (lunch). I'd suggest the breakfast.

Add me to the list of folks who give the meal a :thumbsup2 .

Mickeymel, if you do go, there a few other things at MGM that preschoolers like that you may want to check out. There's not many young-kid themed rides, but there's Playhouse Disney Live on Stage which features characters from Bear in the Big Blue House, Stanley and JoJo's Circus; Voyage of the Little Mermaid (live show); Muppets in 3-D (movie); and the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area.

We did this character lunch on 4/24 are first day at the world DD is 20 months and loved it. She got out of her high chair and danced with jo jo and goliath. There was only 2 kids dancing mine and one other boy around 4 or so. The characters were great the lunch was good. We also did crystal palace breakfrest for was great but characater were ok took forever to see them and we never did see tigger. We were there for 10 nights we just got back please make adr for these character meals before you leave home. I tried booking a couple more when we arrived and there was nothing available for donalds at Ak and Chef Mickey's. You would think after 20 trips we would have done this but is was first DDP we will use the plan again we had 5 meals left over 2 sit down 3 counter service for 2 adults. But it did save us money.

Kelly

I am sending my DB, DSIL, DNiece 3, and my parents there in Spetember. My DH and I are passing ;)

I fully expect my parents to enjoy watching their DGD interact. For us with no kids, {{shudder}}, we are passing :)

It sounds like a fantastic meal for the kids and interaction sounds great. I will make sure to post a review when we get back in the fall
