Jen's seems like such an upbeat person and it's a shame she's going through this. I had no idea you could get cancer from cells left in the uterus after a miscarriage/D&C.

They are an amazing couple and I just love watching their show. Its hard to find good reality tv role models today and Jen and Bill are some of the rare few. Jen is such an inspiration. I love when she is able to showcase her neonatal work on the show. You can just see the passion that she has for her work. I wish her all the best during her battle with cancer. I pray she is able to make a full recovery.

I'll be honest, I stopped watching their show after the first episode. I felt like Jen had a slightly "I overcame adversity to become a doctor so I'm better than you" attitude about her and it grated on my nerves. So I don't know much about their family other than the occasional headline.

But I would think that her notoriety coupled with her medical knowledge and connections will ensure she gets the best care possible.

I read the first article. Does Cancer grow that fast? They are reporting she had a miscarriage in August. The article says that embryo cells were left behind, turned to Cancer, spread to her lungs, and causing the growth of 3 lung tumors--all by October.

Can it really happen that fast? Yikes! I am surprised that they did not do anything to prevent pregnancy, as they talked openly about how a pregnancy was extremely dangerous for Jen because of her size.

I wish the best for them and hope she has a full and complete recovery!!

That's odd I never got that impression from her at all. The complete opposite actually.

It breaks my heart what she is going through. Why do bad things happen to good people?

They tried to get pregnant so hard with zero success, I wonder if they figured it just was not going to happen. And yes, there are types of cancer that can kill you very quickly if not found. I had a friend that went to the eye doctor because he was seeing a black spot, they sent him to the ER "just to check it out" and he died about 3 weeks later. He had a fast moving brain cancer. No symptoms until the black spot.

Funny, when I first watched the show, I felt that Bill was somewhat pompous, almost trying to make himself seem more important or something. As I continued to watch the show, I didn't see that attitude anymore. What stands out at me now is how much he really takes care of her.

I thought the same thing. Not blaming her AT ALL because it's tragic what's happening to them, but myself personally if getting pregnant would endanger my life, I would have had a hysterectomy earlier. But I know that presents its own challenges too and I'm not blaming her at all but that's really the only 100% way she could have prevented a pregnancy.

I know they tried to have biological children via a surrogate so I'm would guess that's why she didn't want a hysterectomy earlier.

Very, very sad.

I don't have cancer but have a chronic illness that I can pass to my child in utero but even using two forms of birth control my daughter came to be. After her I did get my tubes tied but sometimes you can get pregnant even when not trying or when preventing

Yeah it can spread super fast. My ex-DH had a 4x2 inch mass in his chest cavity that was removed and found a small amount of cancer cells inside and thought they got it all with surgery. It grew back four times larger in two weeks then spread to his stomach and lymph nodes a month or so later.

I hope she makes a full recovery and is doing well. I havent been keeping up with the show lately.
