Little Climber

Thanks DisFam95!
Never even thought about the detergent...
I'll be bringing Dreft with us, anyhow,
so if DS has a problem perhaps I could
solve it by re-washing the sheet...

I'm glad to hear the crib goes
together easily!

Again, for a full size crib, I would recommend Children's Furniture Rental, because they have it all set up for you in your room when you check in. My DH did not want to spend any time setting anything up. We brought our DD linens from home from her own crib so the sheets were familar to her and so was her blanket. I just brought a few sheets in case she needed them changed so I didn't have to worrry about washing while on vacation. :wave2:

Thanks Long4Disney (so do I... sigh...),

We're taking notes on all the rental agencies
we've come across, and definitely have yours
in place, too!

As soon as I made my post that you read,
my brain kicked into gear and said,
"Hey you, why don't you just BRING YOUR OWN!"

So, you know how it goes - I am the poster
child for 'Lack of Sleep Destroys Brain Cells.'

Our Little Climber is also a Little Teether in
A LOT of pain this week, so no rest for any of us.
That's ok, tho - get those teeth in before WDW,
that's what I'm praying for!

Have a great weekend, everybody :bounce:

For my DD, now almost 3, we removed the side of the crib that raised and lowered (it was designed to do that) when she was around 18 mo. The mattress was in the very lowest position so she could get in and out on her own (the rest of the house was already babyproofed plus I've become a light sleeper since she was an infant). In this way, she made a move to "toddler bed" with little problem and now sleeps most nights in her own bed... although I still get a visitor most mornings before I'm ready to wake up - thank goodness for remotes and Disney Playhouse. :p I think the familiarity was a key to having this be an easy transition so I would definitely bring any bedtime favorites as well as sheets and a blanket from home. I figure anything that helps get a little one to sleep is worth the suitcase space. It might be worth seeing how well he does

We tried a play n pak when we went on a cruise when DD was 11 mo. She would not sleep in it. I have to admit I understood because there was very little padding on the sleep/play area. While that is OK when she was playing in it, I gave up trying after the second night of struggling to only have her sleep in bed with me.

As for the concern about opening the door, don't the WDW resorts have the slide locks on them to prevent anyone even with a key from opening the door? They've been on all the doors at hotels where I've stayed and have been high enough that my DD wouldn't be able to reach it so I can sleep relatively worry free. I sure hope the room doors have those.
