Having a costume seamstress for a wife and going to Disney World can be a bad combination. Leaving in a week or so and my DDs are going princess crazy.

So, think this is too much for them to wear to character meals? They don't seem to care. But, as a male adult, I am looking at them and wondering how can they be comfortable. :)

On no, they are absolutely beautiful, and the whole experience of dressing like a princess will be worth it for them, I have 2 little princess also and we are going to WDW as a surprise on Christmas day and that evening dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella herself, and I am making sure I dont forget the costume. But before I decided she could wear her dress I asked her why she wanted to wear it, and she said that she wanted to wear it so that cinderella knew that she was her favoriite, could not argue with that.... Its only a couple of hours so she can wear it...........But I will tell you that I wont allow her to wear it into the parks although she is dying to, She is a moody child and would be uncomfortable in 10 min so why go through the stress....!!!!

Have fun and take pics they are so beautiful.......Your wife did a beautiful job on the dresses too...... princess:

Oh my goodness, your girls and the dresses are beautiful! princess: princess:

You see lots of little princesses in full costume, especially outside the Akershus restaurant at Norway in Epcot, where they have the Princess Storybook meals. Many with the tiara, shoes, wands, all the princess accessories!
I think most have a change of clothes with them though. :sunny:

My DD has dressed as Snow White, Tinkerbelle and Cinderella (all old Halloween costumes) to wear to princess breakfasts or to get a photo with the characters. :earsgirl: You are only young once and you should get to wear it while you can, but we did what Eljay suggested--- we brought shorts and t shirt for park time! princess:

I am just wondering how long they will last in those dresses at the park :) Yeah, we are planning to have change of clothing (at least shoes) for them.

Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Every little girl is a princess at WDW. They will have a blast!

WOW! They look beautiful. I think they will love dressing like Cindy for their meal. Have fun!

Depending on where your character meal is located, and where you are staying...you might want to consider using a locker or your car as a place to put the costumes. The lockers are near the entrance to the parks. Or, you could designate a royal valet to bring the costumes back to the car, depending on which character meal you are attending (and how far it is to the car). There are frequently lots of little girls in princess dresses at any of the girly character meals, it almost makes one feel bad for the little girls who aren't dressed up. Another thing to consider, if you are eating a the MK castle meal, your girls might want to stay dressed up for a few photos - Ariel's grotto, princesses near the carousel, for example. Each park has a card that is issued weekly that tells you some info about when and where characters are likely to be. Also, a CM can help with this.

My DD wanted to wear her halloween princess dresses (from the Disney Store) to Disney this past April. They are kind of scratchy. I knew she would be hot and itchy.

I made her new dresses out of cotton fabric. (Not as beautiful as the ones your DW made, but they got the job done.) She wore them to dinner and some days to the park. She looked cute and she was comfortable. princess:

Have fun!!

I think the problem I am worried most about are the shoes. Don't want them to get blisters (that would be hell) :)

My daughter wore regular shoes to the park even if she was wearing her gown. The rule was, she was only allowed to wear her "fancy shoes" at dinner or else the shoes stayed home. It worked like a charm.

Good luck. Your girls will have a ball and you will have great photos!!

Also, CMs paid extra attention to my DD when she was in her gowns!!! princess:

Gosh, they are so cute! I think they can wear them. We saw little girls in DTD wearing their dresses, and they looked like they were having the time of their lives. I enjoyed watching them, but I cannot imagine the joy their parents experienced seeing their Princesses light up the entire place. With that said, we are bringing several outfits for out 4 year old Princess, but with a change of clothes for her. My DD ordered Cindy shoes, but I would bet that her little princess sneaks go on right after her CIndy meal at the castle! :goodvibes

Enjoy the magic thru their beautiful eyes! :wizard: :wizard:

We survived the CRT and 1900 Park Fare by wearing the dresses :) Had lot's of good compliments from people who asked where we got the outfits.
