On our trip last week, I was really struck and really disappointed with how much litter I saw everywhere. I know the CM's do their best to keep it clean and I don't fault them in any way - but I was so disgusted that so many guests of the park think it's OK to just toss their litter in every direction. Especially since you can't walk 10 feet without finding a garbage or recycling bin. Even just now, editing my trip photos, I got to one taken in the Snow White queue of the Evil Queen's recipe for a poisoned apple, where everyone throws their coins - and I had to edit out an expired FP, an empty water bottle and a container of Dibs. :confused3 I don't get how people can be so careless and not hold onto their garbage for the 15 seconds or less it would take them to pass a garbage bin. One thing that really did take down the Disney joy just a notch.

Didn't see too much litter on my last DLR visit. What I did see was swept up quickly. On my last visit to Tokyo Disneyland I found it to be extremely clean and well kept, with sweepers everywhere, not so on my last visit to Hong Kong Disneyland.

We were there last week and I commented to my husband on the litter as well. We encountered a lot of litter in tomorrowland, more than I had seen before. Cups on the ground, dibs boxes, etc. Definitely a first. I hope it's not a trend.

Related to litter... there was more gum on the ground than I had ever see in DLR before. Of course, in three days I stepped in gum three times. Just my luck! :rotfl2:

Unfortunately I have to agree. My last trip was May of 2011 and I was very dismayed to see an over abundance of trash on the ground, in the ride queues and by the food service areas. The only places that were always clean were the bathrooms!

Hmm..I am here now and have not seen any litter in either parks..period. I have seen CM's cleaning often, but everything looks clean. :confused3

Thank goodness I have only expierenced this once. I took my then 72 year old Mother on Mother's day. The trash was amazing. The worst was the Haunted Mansion. Trash everywhere as we stood in line, even the trash cans were over flowing.:confused3 By the way she will be 80 in September.:cake: :tink:

Interesting because I've never seen anything I'd consider 'intentional' litter. The CM's are on it like crazy. On our recent trip we commented on how clean it was. (June of this year.) We mentioned how aside from random spills (like popcorn) there wasn't anything trashy.

We saw a lot of litter when we were there in May. I even commented to my family that there was trash everywhere in the line queues. I am talking line queues with no line were we had to walk thru it to get to the front. They could have had someone go in and clean up.

Does anyone remember that episode of Roseanne where they went to WDW? She and her sister Jackie kept throwing popcorn on the ground and the CM started following them around, sweeping up the popcorn.

All the people who mention trash have been saying that they noticed it in the summer.
We go in the off season and the park is always spotless.

I wonder if the summer's worse just because the of the number of people in the parks, and it being difficult for the cleaners to be everywhere at once to counteract the littering by the trashy people.

HAHA, I was thinking about the same episode when I read the title!

We were in DL this June and WSW last June. While we were there, I kept thinking to myself how much cleaner DL was than WDW. I especially noticed it in the bathrooms. Call me crazy but I'm usually leery of letting my sons go in the men's room by themselves and will opt to find a family restroom because you never know what boys may walk through, wipe their hands on, stand in, etc., but after seeing the condition of the women's room, I had no problems letting them go in before I could check it out.

I agree w/OP. We are here now and I think it is sad that people are as careless as they are with their trash. I have seen adults toss trash down when a trash can was just steps away. I also don't blame the CM's because I know they are working hard, but the public should be a little more clean!

As for gum, I have seen it stuck to walls, rails, posts, etc. There is absolutely no excuse for that at all!

I just wish people would behave in public as they would in their own house or yard :(

I was there last week with my neisce and nephew. We were disappointed that people felt the need to litter in the rides. While waiting in line we often noticed bottles wrappers and gum left on walls. Also there was a strong smell of garbage around Haunted Mansion..not sure what that was

I've noticed litter, but our last trip it wasn't any worse than other trips. I saw lots of CM's cleaning up after litterers and the garbage cans always had room in them. I was not disappointed at all with the status of the litter in the parks.
