Litte Miss Perfect, Toddlers and Tiaras....

I knew you'd love it. You wanna put it on your ipod on repeat, right? :lmao:

Oh, absolutely. He sings it with such FEELING!! :rotfl:

He just told another little girl's mom that Yankee Doodle Dandy is boring. It has no wow. A chimney sweep? That has wow. :rotfl: OMG, I am loving this show.

I remember that episode. I like how he dances around showing how to give the WOW!

My girls and I watch Toddlers and Tiaras. It's pretty disturbing all the spray tanning and fake eye lashes on 3 year olds!

Those little girls doing the pouty things at the judges is really freaky and disturbing....

Ok I admit I'm watching this today (yeah, just heard him sing citrus something...lol)...

I don't necessarily think that these pageants are bad for ALL of the families/contestants involved, but for many of them.... I just feel very sorry for some of these little girls. :sad2:

Jeepers. Have you seen the ones where the mothers compete as well? This is a genius idea. The mothers want to do this so badly--they really should just have middle aged moms pageants at hotels and leave the kids out of it. :lmao:

Big surprise--one woman just said me, "Some part of me really does enjoy being judged."

We must have been watching at the same time. I finally stopped, I had already watched the previous hour. I am so evil, when the little girl kicked her mom accidentally in her freshly collagened lips that she had done just for the mom and me pageant...I cracked up! The mom had all kinds of titles from her by gone days..talk about living vicariously.

Those little girls look like miniature hookers. Creepy.

And those people that spend $400 on a swimsuit, $5000 on a gown...and say it's for the kids future, she can become a weather anchor. How about investing that money in a college education and let her get a real job?

I literally LOL'd for like 3 minutes when she kicked that woman in her collagen lips. That was hilarious! :rotfl2:

Collagen lips mom and her DD just won.

And here comes another episode up next! LOL

Why am I watching this?!?!?! (Because I'm stuck on the recliner with the heating pad and there's not much else on. lol)

I like seeing the little kids having fun, but I feel bad when you KNOW they can feel the pressure from their parents.

Haha, you guys! I was just watching the marathon too! And I thought of all y'all and this thread!

I laugh every time I see the mom get kicked in the mouth after getting botox. :lmao:

Did you guys like Jordan Adcox's routine as the lil' 50's waitress? I thought it was cute. :confused3

I loved it when that mom and her daughter were getting facials and the workers were asking them about the pageant and the mom was telling them how much everything was costing and the workers just looked at each other like ""!

All I can say is FREAK SHOW!

What motivates a parent to put their child through that crap?

Did anyone see the mother/daughter show? Did that woman say she paid $5,000 for that blue gown with over 20,000 rhinestones sewn on it? (She got ripped.)

I feel sorry for those kids.

Oh yeah. No way would I ever pay that for a dress. I watched that episode with DH and told him that apparently I should have married a Navy officer instead of an Army officer if they could afford a dress like that!

I always rewind to the part where she got her mouth kicked. My fiance walked past me and muttered "Never kick a gift horse in the mouth" It was waaaay to mean, but I couldn't help but laugh.

Alot of the parents who spend 2,000-3,000 dollars on a dress use the winnings that their children earn as a way to pay for their newer dresses and what not. I know a little girl who's about 5 or 6 now and she does glitz pageants in the Colorado area and whenever she outgrows her pageant things, her mom resells them or rents them to other girls in the area who are about her daughter's age and that way they use the money from that to fund new outfits, fees, and what not for her daughter. They have invested most of her winnings into a college fund and have taken some little trips from it. But she loves to do the pageants. She likes dressing up and looking like a princess if you will.

I do the glitz pageants and the ones that you would see on television probably because in my state pageantry isn't really big and the pageant system we have here I would have had to start when I was at least 14 or 16 years old to even qualify for the level that I would have to be at for now. I'm also getting into the glitz pageantry because as a figure skater, all I've known is glitz and what not and that's what I'm comfortable and a keen to. I think for the most part (for the one pageant I've done) its a lot of fun.

BTW: I have the documentary A&E put out about pageants on my iPod and I do remember the girl Jenny who died of cystic fibrosis. There's a pageant in California that has an award dedicated to her I think its called the Jenny Foster Sweetheart Award and I think it goes to the child who scores high in sportswear (Jenny's specialty in pageants if I'm not mistaken?)

Does anyone notice on this reality series that many of the girls are the same ones at each competition? I mean, sometimes there are only three girls in a category...and it seems like its the same girls all the time.

Personally, I think putting false fingernails, false eyelashes, false teeth, etc on six year old girls is sad. And the facial expressions they make are inappropriate for their ages. I don't get it. And I usually don't agree on who the judges pick either...although it seems to be at least one of the two or three highlighted girls who wins the big prize (which is not really big either)...coincidence? I think not.

And finally, the moms. What can I say. They all seem to be living through their pretty little girls, like the one who said "We are going to take the title". WE? And sometimes they don't seem to be able to afford the expense or are blatantly leaving out other siblings to focus on the one who is prettier. I am still trying to figure out how they make money at these things since the audience is usually sparse and only filled with other moms.

Unfortunatly its not a "princess" they end up looking like--I don't know any princess that looks like a made up little hooker like those little children do. Maybe if it was more "princess" like those things would not be so totally inappropriate for children.

You're right they are VERY inappropriate.

Yeah, but the guy who made it is famous for pageant dresses. He was on Project Runway and every dress he made was a pageant dress covered in rhinestones. So I guess she wanted a famous designer dress, and he is famous for those types of dresses.

I personally didn't get why the mother and daughters didn't have dresses that were at least cohesive in color. The dark blue and bright pink didn't go well together when they were both on stage. I'm not saying they should be matching dresses, but at least in the same color pallette. Guess it didn't matter, though, because the blue/pink combo ended up winning.
