Hello all,

Is there a list anywhere of reliable DVC resalers? We have checked out The Timeshare Store but they don't currently have what we're looking for (75 to 100 point BCV), so we'd like to see if there are other resalers out there. A couple of members have PM'd us one other - are there many reliable ones or just a few. We're nervous to just google it and use a company that we don't know is legit or hits us with hidden fees. Please feel free to PM us if site sponsorship makes this a sensitive issue.

Thanks,
Jeff and family

"The Timeshare Store" and "DVC by resell" is great, and "A Timeshare Broker". I would NOT suggest GMAC, we bought with them, and it has taken forever to close.

We used ********** (Jaki and ****) for our purchase in May and I'd highly recommend them! This question has come up a few times and I don't think I've ever seen a single complaint about them. :thumbsup2

The smaller resale contracts often never make it to the website for the Timeshare Store and other brokers since they will maintain a list of those looking for smaller contracts and contact them directly as soon as what they want becomes available.

If you are looking for a specific resort/specific number of points you might want to contact some of the resale brokers to let them know of your interest otherwise you might wait quite awhile to see it on the website. I'd even contact several to maximize your opportunity for success.

Don't count on them contacting you after the 2nd week. You need to keep calling and checking with them. I suppose they have bigger fish to fry.

Also be sure of what you want because when the contract does come up you have to move FAST!.. We missed one because we wanted to talk it over at breakfast - 1 hour later gone. We missed another just in the time it takes to send back an email!

Now we are the the 2nd month of waiting for a GMAC resale to close. So, yes GMAC is real slow, but

DVC resales are not on the MLS. Each broker gets their own listings and doesn't share them, so you have to check with them all. I found a site MyResotrsNetwork that sort of acts like an MLS for timeshares, but that doesn't get you on the waitlists for small contract that each broker may have.

We and many other DVC members used Jaki Apetz and **** *****

their website is www.**********.com

They are very professional and experienced in selling DVC. They have been around since the early 1990's. We bought in 1996.

Good luck

Ed

Does anyone know what % commission TTS takes on resales?

We're hoping to sell a few contracts via resale, and our DVC guide recommended GMAC, which is a little scary, as the reviews I've read have been thoroughly mixed for GMAC. I'm very interested in some good recommendations for who to use as well. I'm going to call GMAC in the morning and see what their deal is, and maybe call TSS too. It's all confusing and scary.

GMAC has struck a deal with Disney to be the "official" resale company. It's because of that deal that your guide recommended them. They are a reputable company that processes many sales; it's just their customer service that is sometimes lacking.

I'd avoid them if possible - I believe one of the other resellers that has been mentioned has access to their listings. But if you happen to end up working with GMAC, it's not the end of the world.
