Is there a list out there anywhere of the quietest areas in each park? In each land of each park would be even better! I'm thinking it would be a great thing to have for reference if we're approaching a toddler meltdown and need to *quickly* escape crowds/heat/noise for just a few minutes to take a breather/have a snack etc. If there isn't already a list in existence, anyone want to contribute their ideas? :)

One of our favorite spots in MK is in Tomorrowland next to Space Mt. There is a small area surrounded by plants that kinda block out everything.

At Animal Kingdom, there is path off to the side of Dinosaur that I have never seen another person on. Great bench there too.

Great ideas! Now that you mention it I remember that path next to Dinosaur - there was a bench somewhere on it that I sat on once when I was sweltering and my feet were killing me and you're right, there wasn't another soul around!

There is a porch on the back of Hall of Presidents - 2 rocking chairs there. We have spent time decompressing there.

Also, the path Space Mountain to....well, I guess New Fantasyland? Quiet. The train does go by every 20 or so, but we have enjoyed hanging out back there.

Streets of America (???) are usually deserted. My younger son and I spent a good long time hanging out on a bench, in the dark, there one night. Got him calmed down, and just enjoyed the sounds.

MK -
Tom Sawyers Island - Perfect spot to let the kids run and burn off some steam.
The rose garden next to the castle.
Fantasyland - Fountain area by Gaston's Tavern
Tommorowland - not a spot but a ride. The People Mover - very relaxing ride.
Adventureland - benches opposite of Pirates (not really quiet but enough spots to sit and relax)
Main Street- the little streets off Main Street next to the shops.
A train ride is good help at soothing a melt down or help relax tired kiddos.

EPCOT -
All the benches around the lagoon at World Showcase.
Future World - The area between WS and FW.

AK - Love the area by Flame Tree BBQ. Find a spot to sit by the water or across from the entrance of Flame Tree (sit a watch the bands play etc.. ).
Dinoland is great spot for the kids to explore and burn off some energy.

HS - Benches by Echo Lake is pretty place to sit and relax.
Also, I second the Streets of America as it always seems to be always quiet.
Fountain by Muppets 3D is good place to relax

When my kids were younger, the melt downs would start around 11:30 - so we would usually head back to the hotel to swim, eat and nap. Not sure if it is possible for you but it sure did help in our case! :)

I just read this article yesterday:
