:goodvibesI'm going at the end of Aug and trying to decide where to eat. What are your top5 and what do you get??

golden horse shoe or stage door cafe is one we dont miss. (moz sticks, chicken nuggets, and fish and chips)

we like the huge burger at village hus as well.

this time we are only doing one chr meal if we can and it will be GK. Minnie's breakfast is also a good one.

If you like the princess Aries groto at dca is good one too.

1. Bengal BBQ - Love the bacon wrapped asparagus and I'm really not even much of a healthy eater!

2. Dole Whip at the Tiki Room - I think about this for months afterwards every time I have one.

3. Ariel's Grotto - My kids are a little old for the princess thing now, but they still insist on going to Ariel's because they love the dessert. Chocolate shells and such filled with raspberries.

4. Blue Bayou - The atmosphere of eating inside the Pirates of the Caribbean can't be beat. We go at lunchtime when it's a little less expensive and when it's hot outside. I always get the Monte Cristo.

5. River Belle Terrace - I don't remember what I get here; we mainly go for the atmosphere. Love sitting outside looking at the Rivers of America. Just seems so Disney!

1. Dole Whip (or Dole Whip Float) at the Tiki Room
2. Goofy's Kitchen or Minnie's (for characters) Goofy's has PB&J Pizza (swoon)
3. Flo's V8 Cafe (breakfast is super good-brioche french toast and lunch is pretty good too! Don't forget to get a Pie-O-Rama. Mud Pie- how I miss you!!)
4. Cozy Cone (Chicken Verde cones-Yummy! it's served in a bread cone)
5. I love their clam chowder in a bread bowl at the Pacific Warf but I remember 5 years ago their bread bowls being gigantic. Now not so much. If not, a corn dog at the Red Cart near Plaza Inn .

DTD we like getting Po'Boy Sandwiches right next to Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (it's counter service to the left of the restaurant if you are looking at Ralph Brennan's. And if we are up for it we get the Beignets as dessert.

Carnation Cafe for breakfast and/or lunch. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is even better.

Bengal BBQ. I like the chicken skewers best. I tried the beef once and I didn't like it as much as the chicken. The veggie ones are good too!

River Belle Terrace. Had the best breakfast here with DD one quiet morning. Mickey pancakes!

Those are my places that I would be bummed to miss on a trip.

1. Carnation Cafe-they used to have a veggie sandwich but now it looks like turkey is the only option. Anything served on the pretzel roll bread is SO good!

2. Dole Whip

3. Mickey bar

4. Lunch at Ariel's Grotto--I've eaten there twice and have enjoyed both meals

5. Goofy's Kitchen breakfast

1. Napa Rose - It is an expensive dining experience, but totally worth it if that's your thing! I get the filet. If they have the Thai soup with shrimp, it is wonderful. We tried it last May, and ended up ordering another bowl. We were disappointed they didn't have it when we went on Christmas Eve, but everything was so wonderful, we didn't miss it in the end.

2. Storytellers (DCG)- Eggs benedict. It is available from the menu OR on the buffet. And if you don't like how they're done on the buffet, they'll make you fresh ones (they were overcooked for my oldest daughter) and bring them out for you. The fresh waffles are also yummy!

3. The Cove Bar (DCA)- Lobster nachos and/or sliders. YUM! Great place to people watch as well.

4. Surf's Up Mickey (PPH) OR Minnie and Friends at the Plaza (DL) - Both are breakfast buffets. Depends on who you want to see and what you are looking for in your experience. Surf's Up has better food and an interactive dance show, plus a waiter/waitress brings you your drinks (a plus for large families with little kids, IMO). Plaza has better/more character interaction.

5. Gotta a corn dog!!!!

Where we always eat:

1: Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, all you care to eat bbq, and a fun show.

2: Plaza Inn for the fried chicken, mashed taters, veg, and biscuit.

3: Hungry Bear for fried green tomato sandwich and onion rings.

4: Troubadour Tavern for the potatoes and corn cobs.

5: Pacific Wharf for the bread bowls. I like the broccoli soup.

Where we are going to eat this time:

1: The Cove Bar for lobster nachos.

2: Paradise Garden Grill.

3: Flo's V8 and the Cozy Cone place.

We also really like the nachos from White Water Snacks in the Grand. So yummy!

For me: mint julep at the Julep Bar in NOS, Pomme frittes at Cafe Orleans, Gumbo in a bread bowl in NOS, also love GK, and Blue Bayou. Love the Monte Cristo ( but split one, its HUGE.) I can take or leave the Dole Whip (*gasp!) but I usually have one.

carnation cafe - loaded baked potato soup

Dole Whip

Plaza Inn - fried chicken plate

Care Orleans - their side salad, it is delish, has lots of yummy things on top, I had it with a bowl of soup and it was perfect

in DCA at the Wharf, the chowder in the bread bowl

My list is of both yummy food AND stuff I haven't been able to find close to home.

1. Dole Whip (never see it anywhere else so it's quintessential DLR for me!)
2. Giant Corn Dog (better than any corn dog I've had!)
3. Mickey ice cream bar (do they sell this at any store?)

#4 might have been Bengal BBQ, but we never made it there as we were starving and ended up just doing the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ (which I though was only so-so because DH makes awesome BBQ).

#5 might have been the fried chicken, as that was also on my list to try but we didn't make it there either.

We did Ariel's Grotto lunch just to meet the princesses. I thought that was disappointing, as I have had better dorm food than there (albeit UCLA's dorm food was quite good back in the 90s). Still, we were there to meet princesses, not just eat, so I figured the high price was to pay for the couple of minutes with each princess.

Plaza Inn - for the Fried Chicken
Blue Bayou - a must!
Corn Dog wagon on Main Street
Bengal BBQ - Delish!
River Belle Terrace

jazz kitchen express...DTD...begnets

Pacific Wharf Cafe...DCA...broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl

you know I dont like the house made chips all that much...they are kind of hard and it makes me think they've been sitting out too long...i know thats not the case but it just makes me think that...i really wish they would serve fries or potato salad or something...

1. Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta - Boardwalk Field Greens Salad.

3. Plazza Inn - Pasta w/ Marinara & side salad

4. Pacific Wharf Cafe - Vegetarian Chilli

5. River Belle Terrace - Breakfast. I love the breakfast potatoes there.

1 - Plaza Inn - we love the chicken dinner, a must

2 - Carnation Cafe - baked potato soup - another must

3 - Pacific Wharf - corn chowder in a bread bowl

2. Cafe Orleans for the monte and the mickey bignets, pomme frittes, soup and salad...so we usually hit it twice.
3. Redds Pizza Port (its a chef cooked line so we can get custom orders for allergies) their pasta and salad are fresh and good.
4. Plaza for Fried Chicken
5. Bread Bowls at DCA or bread bowl clam chowder in NOS

I am surprised more people don't mention Troubadour Tavern. We absolutely live that place. The BBQ chicken baked potato is amazing! We always go several times. And our daughter loves the Kids power pack. It's so out if the way and not mentioned on the map, so it's a perfect spot.

I also love those tomato sandwiches!!!

Where is the Troubador Tavern? Think we might try it next month.
